The letters are just so god-awful ugly, they can put them anywhere just as long as its off Disney property.

haha, so much hate for the letters?

I'm actually a fan of them as pretty much the only part of the origional entrance that works.

Alot of the entrance areas to the DLR are kinda bland in my opinion so it'd be nice to see something decorate at elast a few off corners.

That street corner is a good canidate as is a few areas around the parking garage and whatnot. If they want to recycle a few elements I think they could do a great job with it.

The problem with the letters is that they are OUTSIDE of the park, I prefer these parks to have clean clear-cut entrys. At Disneyland you dont experience the themes until you go through the turnstiles, at DCA you got some of the theme outside the gates, then you get the rest while past the turnstiles, it just came off as sloppy to me.

They also created traffic problems at the entrance for the park as people try to get their pictures taken in front of their fav letter.

Another reason I hate the letters is because they are just cement, its such a dry, hot, ugly way to welcome you into a theme park. Im so glad they are leaving, GOOD RIDDANCE!

I vote the beach, either newport or somewhere between Santa Monica and Malibu. Heck maybe they could be moved to the Santa Monica Pier.

How about along the Mickey and Friends Tram Route? Like the grassy area where the Halloween Goofy display is?

I suppose everyones entitled to their opinions. I always thought the turnstyles and even the ticket booths for Disneyland showed a bit of theme before you even got into the park.

Seems like DCA's turnstyles were comparatively bland but that the letters made up for it. I almost suspect the letters were once supposed to be part of the entrance gates then pushed back when they realized that people would want to photo with them.

I've never really seen any traffic problems with them unless this is a recent thing now that the park is more popular?

As far as the cement goes, I thought they were pretty smart building the letters that way as it makes them durable in cases were guests climb all over them, I can't really say that they're dry or bland sicne they always have the color facing out from them. Only time I've viewed them as bland is when I see them from behind.

I actually wish they'd do a summer type display on the tram route in the same vein as the Halloween display and then maybe also a Christmas display and even a spring one... Would make it kinda fun.

As for the California Letters, I think they'd do well off to the side on the walkways approaching DCA, like that street corner they're supposed to be altering or some other corner facing the hotels or something. I think they could find a nice scenic place to set them up that could keep the area nice and interesting.

I really find most of the entry arches to the resort kinda boring, wish we got more fountains and decorative stuff like Hong Kong seems to have.

speaking of fountains i really really REALLY hope that the next thing on the chopping block is the ugly orange fountain at the entrance of DTD. That ugly mall fountain needs to go and replaced with a true Disney property fountain similar to the ones found at the asian resorts

My girlfriend and I will have to get one last picture in front of the California letters before they're finally gone forever.
