I just got confirmation that Michelle Obama was indeed at DCA today. This is the text message (unedited) I just got:

    Lucky them!

There was something similar that Uncle Bob made up a while ago for the Armchair Imagineering Contest, and it was really good. it was a mix of flume ride and roller coaster, kinda like Atlantis at Sea World I think, and it was about a spooky mansion owned by the guy that lived there before Tinkerschmidt.

I must come clean: I went to the Park today, and I sat under the helix where the MalibOOmer sits.

It wasn't as loud as I was expecting, even when the Coaster comes by.

I'll still admit that I don't like the loss of a ride for "aesthetic" purposes, but I will concede the point that it is within tolerable noise levels to have a park. Even if the park idea is stupid.

Also, if you haven't seen the Glow Fest decorations during the day in person, they really are as tacky as everyone says.

Finally, even those this is "tracker #9" material: the Mermaid building is bigger than the pictures make it look, and the Carsland rockwork is REALLY close to Wharf.

Oh, and SOMEONE important was in DCA last night, there were suits EVERYWHERE.

It's not a rumor. I already gave confirmation that she and her daughters were there to witness a private screening of "World of Color."

I'm talking about simple ride capacity, not wait times.

Also, 4 hour waits, really? I would never expect 4 hour waits for any attraction outside of it's first couple seasons.

And besides, I don't think anyone in their right mind would wait 4 hours for the MaliBoomer anyway.

I was being facetious to exaggerate a point.

You can't seriously be saying a park in that area will "occupy" more people than a ride, can you?

In all seriousness, it actually might. There are times when I've walked by Maliboomer and have only seen maybe 5 people in line. Now, if this rumored park comes into fruition then it could maybe allow up to 20 people to sit on benches, plus it could be used for a character meet-n-greet. So, yes, a park could potentially bring more people over to that side of Paradise Pier.

Exactly. Not only does Maliboomer not belong thematically, it also has very low ridership. Removing it would strengthen the new theme of the pier while barely making a dent in the capacity of the park.
