Re: Disney California Adventure Project Tracker X

Wow. It looks like the California Adventure will be a little more difficult to move around once this major phase of construction begins on January 4th. But I’m glad that Buena Vista Street is finally gonna begin its construction. I also like the idea of the Pixar Pop-Up shows. It will be interesting to see how they pull those ones off. So, I’m just wondering where we gonna enter the park when the main entrance closes for this construction.

Sounds like the walls are closing in.

Can anyone draw out how the temporary entry to DCA is suppose to be laid out?

i had heard of the Pixar street shows and its interesting to hear that they are going ahead with them. Supposedly small floats are being designed for these small shows that will include meet and greets it should make them more entertaining than just characters walking out for meet and greets.

should be fun for guests to see all their favorite Pixar friends pop up around the opened areas of the park in small calvacade style entertainment and give the castmembers that would be out of a job due to the parade being on haitus something to keep them busy

if the articles are right and the backstage access is about 500 feet then it seems like the path will follow the chainlink fence west of Condor flats near the outside queue of Soarin. Then go north and turn east right before the large park gates. Guests will then travel on the backstage road behind Soarin building towards the east end just north of the restrooms near the entrance.
The removal of the entrance mural left a large open area right in the north corner area of the bathroom structures. When the new gates open there will be a large planter and new park walls that line up to the new turnstyles. That area between the new park walls and the bathroom structures will probably remain open to allow guests to enter thru the new gates then funneled west to that backstage opening.

It will be interesting to see if they split up the route to allow easy flow for guests exiting the same way for park hopping. At park closing my guess is that they will just open the large woodne gates right next to the world of Disney store which leads directly into DTD and the tram area.

So they are just meet and greets with a little show attached. It sounds like a good idea to keep some entertainment in the park.

So if there will be a construction wall pathway across sunshine plaza to hollywoodland, I am now thinking that the el camino real pathway will probably be blocked as well, so to get to paradise pier we would have to walk around grizzly river run, or go by TOT and through a bugs land. Or will that stretch of road be open by the time the temp entrance starts being used?

Oh wow. This is all very exciting.
I'll be visiting in mid-July, so I guess I'll be catching the old entrance just before it closes for good.

I'm extremely happy I'll be able to ride the Little Mermaid and see Paradise Pier 90% finished, although it will make me so jealous to be able to see Cars Land (which will be close to completion by then) and not be able to touch it. Oh well, it's ten times better a park than what it was three years ago!

Disney park puts Pixar parade on hiatus | disney, parade, set - News - The Orange County Register
ElecTRONica: The nighttime, entertainment experience, based on "Tron: Legacy," is set to continue indefinitely, McClintock said. Disney originally announced that it would run until April, but now the park does not have a specific end date. The movie opened on Friday and placed No. 1 at the box office over the weekend.
YES!!! I LOVE elecTRONica!! I've had so much fun there, this is good news to me.
