Yes. The lights are for sure used in the opening and they do neat twinkly effect that fades out.

I see and understand some of the people's complaints regarding the staging of the Glow Fest props being out all day; but hasnt anyone really thought of the fact that perhaps Glow Fest was something that was not supposed to happen to begin with? Ever since it was rumored and finally anounced I had the feeling that it was never planned to have such a festival but towards the end when the people at DCA finally started to see the potential crowd situation/ nightmare that was just about to come over the park they scrambled to come up with some solution to try and leviate the problem.

When I look at the light posts and decorations all I see is this wasnt originally intended to happen and they did the best they could with what little time to plan they had. Just my opinion but I dont honestly think they're as bad show as people are making them seem to be. Then again that's my opinion and I give DCA alittle more slack when it comes to stuff like this. Now were this occuring over in DL then it would probably be more of an issue but then again nobody has really complained about the light towers that are errected in the HUB for Grad Night that are there during the daytime. Although the common response to that would be that those towers arent brightly decorated.

Bingo. It was a last-minute project, obviously. And from what I've been told, the entire Glow Fest was put together by an outside contractor, not by Disney.

Still doesn't excuse the hideous decorations and the fact that everything is out all day, but it at least explains why Disney has been working so hard to change the tacky appearance of DCA only to turn around and add Glow Fest to the line-up of the park's biggest summer yet.

I don't think the glow fest decorations are that bad of an eye-sore during the day.
I like the idea of though... sounds like it would be nice to walk around in and see all the lights and whatever they are planning on doing at night.

Which is exactly what they want us to do.

Goodbye "empty" park that I could hit all the rides in in under 4 hours... It was a good 9 years. I will miss you.

I guess Disneyland becomes the lame park with few updates now, eh?

Hey guys, I just realized this, but doesn't anyone else think that Carsland is like the disney version of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter? I know that they are 2 completely different things, but look at the similarities:

-both based on a movie
-both in a second gate
-both take place in a setting of a movie that is a street
-both have 3 rides
-both have an E-Ticket, technologically advanced, dark ride

Although the way they handled the first showing last night was a complete mess. They did the 2nd show much more organized. I'm sure they will work out the kinks by opening day. But it will still be CRAZY! I'll live with watching the show from the back of the pier while working.

Haha that photo was taken directly from the WoC Showcase. Which by the way was AMAZING! We got to see the fountains really up close and personal! They even tested a fountain right in front of us! Also the lasers! It was great!

Oh and btw. Some of the merch pictured is different than what we already have backstage at most stores. I think this is the new stuff, but I guess they've just decided to sell the old stuff(before Idger butted in) as well.

Well I would say as early as possible, which what I did, but I didn't end up with a good seat. I'm sure they'll have more info for guests on where and when to queue up.

what im thinking of doing, is do the first half of DCA in the morning, then towards the end of the day, do paradise pier. when i see the line get long enough, thats when i get in line. sound good?

btw, if you have the picnic package, do you need to get it early in the morning to get a good seat? I dont feel like having tiramisu for breakfast
