Re: I gotta go...Micechatters guide to Disneyland Resorts bathrooms.

For the ladies in your group, be sure to check out the bathrooms by the Village Haus--there be secret stalls there. Sort of.

When visiting the park years ago (8?), my wife went to relieve herself of her $3 Coke. Apparently there was a loooong line. However, a friendly castmember in the midst of cleaning the bathroom caught my wife's attention and pointed her to a completely different set of stalls that were completely EMPTY. Long lines for one set of stalls, drifting tumbleweeds for the other set. My wife dubbed these, The Secret Stalls.

Now I've questioned her on this many times, as I dont' see how a whole set of stalls can go unnoticed by most. She said they really aren't hidden or secret, but they ARE poorly labeled. I think she said that the bathroom is divided into two parts. There was a sign pointing to the less obvious half, but it was obscured by sinks or something like that. When you walk into a crowded restroom and see a line of people, you assume that's where you have to go--it's easy to overlook a different, less obvious part of the room.

The last time we went, she said that they had improved the signage and that part of the bathroom was getting more traffic than before, but it was still less busy than the other half.

*Shrugs* Being a lad, I've never gotten to see these mysterious secret stalls, so I don't know how hidden they really are. But my wife swears it's the best place to pee. Shhhh . . . keep it to yourself though. I don't want to get in trouble if she has to wait in line next time.

Avoid the NOS and Adventureland bathrooms like the plague. They are always crowded and ususally dirty.

Be sure to use the bathroom BEFORE you go to Tom Sawyer's island. The bathroom there is the only one I would not recommend.

I avoid the following restrooms for men because they tend to be busy, or otherwise less than pleasant:

East Side of Town Square (West Side of Town Square or Central Lobby)
Center Street (Plaza Inn, Rancho del Zocolo, or West Side of Town Square)
Adventureland (Rancho del Zocolo or Plaza Inn)
New Orleans Square (Hungry Bear Restaurant or Rancho del Zocolo)
Village Haus (Fantasyland Theatre or Rancho del Zocolo)
Sleeping Beauty Castle (Tomorrowland or Plaza Inn)

In the above list, I also provided a better alternative in parentheses.

D.C.A.'s lavatories are universally in good condition.

My personal favorite is the one at the M&F parking structure. I've never seen it unclean or too busy, and the need is never greater than after the one-hour-plus drive to the DLR or just before the drive home ......

I have a question slightly off track.... do any of the restrooms have toilets WITHOUT automatic flush? I had a guest ask because his daughter was terrified of it.

I know this doesn't apply to you.... But we really like the Baby Center. It's down behind the Corndog cart on Main Street.

In the baby center, mothers can breastfeed in private, there are daper changing tables, and little-tiny kiddie size potties. (So cute)

PLEASE spread the word about the baby center...

I'm so tired of seeing mom's whipping it out to feed their kids right in the middle of everything. And then when you notice them, and what they are doing, they look back at you like you're a pervert!

I'm not the one showing my private parts in public!

There is a time and place for everything...Main St and the Hub are not the places for that. The baby center is.

Sorry...Now back to the topic of the preferred restrooms.

I second that regarding the one on Tom's island. We go before and then after, but not while we're there.

When our kids were babies we LOVED the baby center. All of the ladies in there knew us because we were at the parks every two weeks back then.

There is a portion of MP devoted solely to the restrooms of DL.

Thanks for using the baby center!

We did as well. Glad that part of our life is over...(well...not all of us).

It's been a few years, but I liked the ones behind the Carnation Cafe. They're small, but they're not particularly visible from the street so they're rarely crowded and generally cleaner than most. The prince and princess bathrooms at the castle are just vile.
