Question What will finally come to the Festival Arena?

So according to Al, Iger is definitely interested in using the Festival Arena, that has been used for corporate events since they ended the Hunchback Festival of Fools. However, since he said this we've heard nothing about what kind of attraction it will be. So I'm wondering what you guys are hoping for? A new outdoor show, a ride, what? Certainly a show would get us in there a lot soon, but of what? Hunchback didn't really belong in Frontierland, so should they expand it Fantasyland? Make something correct for Frontierland, like Pocahontas perhaps? Make it its own land. Let's talk about this.

Actual entertainment. Disneyland seems to lack that at the moment.

    this!

I would say make it a venue for Lauging Stock, but I would rather see the Horseshoe used for that!

I needs to be for entertainment, whatever they use it for. whether they keep it in the round, or build an amphitheatre, it needs to house live entertainment!

I would love to see Hunchback return, it's my favorite Disney movie. Not a realistic hope though.

[But I'm pretty good with the information, if I do say so myself. And you can hit me all you want with Walt Disney World.])

Re: What will fiiinally come to the Festival Arena?

the main thing Disney has to consider is the tradeoff. Are they willing to give up a known source of corporate rental revenue for a land full of attractions and merchandise? It means fitting more people in the park (who could potentially spend money) but turning away corporate top dollar.

About the only way I can see this becoming an attraction is if it has a direct tie-in to a yet to be released movie or franchise... because that is the only way Iger could justify it to the shareholders.

Well it's already set to happen, we just don't know what it will be. I could care less about their monetary concerns. They sold out when they made this a corporate venue.

It's a rumor. So don't state it as a fact.

Re: What will fiiinally come to the Festival Arena?

Having been in the Festival Arena in May this year I can say that you aren't missing anything if you make it an attraction. I've never liked the idea of wasted space at DLR, and this is a perfect example of wasted space. And its not only for corporate events unless you consider the awards ceremony for the Heritage Festivals to be a corporate event, either way I was very displeased with the venue (it doesn't even have a place to sit besides the ground) and I had to watch Magical from there (worst angle to view the fireworks from EVER), and I had to watch F! from over the the arena's walls, where I could see some pyro, the masts of Columbia, and I could hear the finale's music
    Trips coming up:

    May 22-26th
    July 13th-18th
    November 19th-25th
