I bet they actually don't know where yet. They have several options set up and are planning according to the weather of that day.

I was just in SF today and wondering myself. My votes would be for someplace that people can get to easily and has enough surfaces to project on. My want as much buzz as they can get. Some ideas: Ferry Building, Embarcadero plaza where they ice skate in winter, civic center with lots of surfaces and people can view closer, Mascone Center a giant park might be nice too.

" I fight for the users"
Problems with those sites:
Golden Gate Bridge - No flat surface to show it on. They could show it on the walls of Fort Point with the GGB in the background though. This is probably going to be where it's at, being that the GGB is so iconic.
Coit Tower - A possibility, but with the curvature of the tower and the size of it, they would have a problem projecting images onto it.
Palace of Fine Arts - A good possibility, being that they used its facade for 'Golden Dreams' in DCA. Like Coit Tower and the GGB though, there aren't alot of flat surfaces to project onto though. They would have to install a screen, and that would take away the imagery of the Palace of Fine Arts.
Transamerica Pyramid - In order to show a projection on the side of the Pyramid, they would need to install the projectors on the top of buildings at least a block away. Plus it would create a traffic nightmare for people coming across the Bay Bridge slowing down to see it.
I was also thinking that they might do City Hall, but at night there is a large homeless encampment around the Civic Center, so that might not be the best place.
Alcatraz is a possiblility...
The Ferry Building is another site, but there's a lot of foot traffic in the Embarcadero in the early evening.
Mission Delores.. Too many buildings around, The Mission District is not the best area to be in at night, and not to many people would recognize Mission Delores.
Just my 2cents.
Growing older is manditory
Growing up is however, optional
I don't think they want people around seeing it in person, otherwise they would have mentioned where it was going to be. Being that Fort Point is limited access and a very small venue, that's probably where it's going to be and why they aren't announcing where it's being shown in SF.

Well if they are waiting to see what the best location will be due to weather, I am guessing that it will not be Fort Point now, it is very low-cloudy around the bay today and tonight and the bridge may be hidden by fog at that time.
Hm. Maybe it as to do with the theme "Love"... where can you find love in SF...?
Do do do do do do dodododododo!

I'm pretty sure the area in Old Sac that Disney is going to use is the massive open grass area across from the Sacramento History Museum.
PS
What i don't understand is, the road show has already kicked off in San Francisco, and tonight is the LAST night and the official World of Color road tour website hasn't even announced the location (http://disneylandevent.com/woc/)??? Someone should get fired, LOL but is it me or was this whole idea really a short notice???

Alcatraz would be very awesome but kinda scary for kids, I mean, the place does have a haunting feeling at night (I get scared just wondering around alone, LOL) but the right lighting settings =) Disney has done a film premiere with The Rock years ago but I what I don't get. Tonight is the last night for the WOC road show in SF and Disney's World of Color hasn't even announced a place yet???
