Definitely do take it and don't be afraid to use it. Just don't stand in the middle of a walk way with it or be somewhere in the way. 9 times out of 10 you will have no problem. I'm going on Friday and I'm taking mine.

Re: The Disneyland Photo of the Day...

I've been working on several new tutorials but they are rather lengthy and taking me a while to organize and figure out in some intelligible manner. We have a really busy week this week but I hope to have them up soon. In the mean time, here's some pretty for today.

Re: The Disneyland Photo of the Day...

    10-10-12
Today's "Disneyland Photo Tip of the Day" is just an addendum to the one I posted the other day on photographing the Frankenweenie sets. I guess I'll call it Be a Peeping Tom.

I decided to head back to the Animation Academy the other day and take a few more pictures of the Frankenweenie sets to see if there was anything that I missed the first time. There was!

The first time that I saw the afore mentioned Frankenweenie sets, my photographic exuberance got the better of me and I failed to notice the small windows on the sides and back of some of the exhibits. To be perfectly honest, it also didn't occur to me to shoot through those odd little windows until someone photobombed me by making faces in the back window while I was shooting the front of the attic set. I was laughing at the person making faces when my wife came up to me and asked if I'd taken a shot through the side and back windows of the sets. Needless to say, I don't need much prodding to take pictures of something from a new and unique vantage point.

Virtually every person in there between ages of 10 to 60 were taking pictures of the sets with their camera phones. Every one of them was standing 2 feet away from it and getting a photo filled with glare and their own reflection. I kept thinking to myself "Doesn't anyone read my column?!"

Like I said in my previous article Place the Lens Against the Glass! This also goes for the side and back windows. Shooting from those untouched windows not only gives you a unique photo, they don't have finger prints all over them that you have to avoid.

    Here are some examples.

Size: 160.3 KB

For some reason, I really like these images because they make me feel like I'm also in the glass cage and strange people are staring at me.

So if you do get a chance to take pictures of these sets, look to the sides and the back as well.

    Happy Snapping!

Here's a little (well 3 times) bit o' pretty for today. This took a lot of work and planning to pull off. I may use it as a Photo Tip because it took so many different steps and techniques to achieve. Let me know what you think.

Amazing Sunset picture, When I saw this on Flickr when you uploaded it I was so sad that I headed home so early in the day but I have troubles being in huge crowds sometimes especially with my gf and my little sister being there

Re: The Disneyland Photo of the Day...

Sorry it's taking me so long for the next tutorial. I'm actually working on 3 of them and can't get a moment to go through the hundreds and hundreds of photos to figure out which ones to use. Getting out of work at 3 am each night isn't helping matters much.

I got a chance to look at the FrankenWeenie stuff- what fun! Looking through the little windows definitely gives you a really different viewpoint.

Sorry I still haven't gotten a new tutorial up yet. October is usually one of our busiest months of the year with all our distributors and retailers ordering for the holidays. We've been working till 3 am every night and not getting to bed till 5 am. I swear I'm trying.
Here's a sneak preview of one that is coming up.

No worries- you've got a business to run. As much as I enjoy your tutorials, I recognize that it's a spare-time thing. And especially this time of year, few of us have much spare time.

Re: The Disneyland Photo of the Day...

So sorry I've been absent for so long. October is usually one of our busiest months of the year and this one is no different. We've been working til almost 3 am every morning and I gotta say, "I'm freaking exhausted!" I have at least 4 more tutorials all planned out and photographed but just can't seem to get the time to organize it all. I have about one more solid week of production, then I ship all the orders that are bogging us down and I can hopefully get back on track with the stuff I want to do, like this column.

Here's a few pretties in the mean time.
