I love to see converging lines because of the depth they convey, and your photo of the barrel bridge is the best example!

I'm glad you liked the Pontoon bridge shot. I had to wait about 20 minutes to get it when no people were on it and there was a constant stream of people crossing it. Finally when my opportunity came, right when I took the shot and a woman showed up at the other end. I used the clone stamp tool to get rid of her though. Then I did the saturation and blurring on it.

It's actually the sorcerer hat at the Disneyland Hotel, it appears. But I thought the same thing at first too.

The stairway is in the Sleeping Beauty Castle walkthrough.
I'll have the next post up on Saturday. Work was crazy today. In a good way though. I basically did a weeks worth of sales today. I'm just pooped.

Got an order of he and his wife's hot sauce and beef jerky yesterday and I must say it's excellent! Lots of heat (even the regular strength) and superb flavor. I can see why it's won so many awards.

And I love beef jerky, but their marinade and pepper treatment takes it to the next level. Wish they sold it by the pound.

They even include a handwritten thank you note! Howz that for a personal touch.

I ordered the extra hot recipe for my brother who loves it as hot as you can get it. So, if you like hot sauce or know anyone who does, this is THE stuff to get.

Now back to our program....

In “Today’s Disneyland Photo Tip of the Day” we are going to borrow a military term and Take the High Ground. (Or at least the highest ground we can get in Disneyland)

Mistr Webmastr had covered the same topic when he so graciously filled in for me a while back. I had a few other elevated viewpoints, and some of the same, so I thought I would follow his lead and show some of the views from the heights of Disneyland.

As we enter the park, the first elevated area to shoot from is obviously the train station.


Next, we can hop on the upper level of the Omnibus and see what the view looks like from up there. (I can’t seem to find the file with the rest of the photos I took from the Omnibus, so this one will have to do.) I guess I’ll have to do it again on our photo meet.


Once we get off the Omnibus, the next high ground we can take is aboard the Astro Orbiter.


Since we are in Tomorrowland, We will cut through the Innoventions building and see what it looks like from the exit on the upper level.






We exit Innoventions close to Space Mountain, so lets check out the view from it’s upper level. This shot would be so much nicer if it wasn't a rainy day.


From there we will head over to Adventureland and climb up Tarzan’s Treehouse to overlook the Rivers of America.


Speaking of Rivers of America, I wonder what the view can look like from Tom Sawyers’ Island.



This wasn't very high, but I got this shot by standing on a bench near the Fast Pass distribution for Haunted Mansion and shooting over the fence before the attraction had opened. I love this one, so I'm putting it Large.


There are a few high points in DCA that we can shoot from as well. This is from the top of the look out tower in Redwood Creek. This photo was taken in September of 2009. I went a few weeks ago to take more of them but the trees have grown so high that you can’t see anything anymore.


If you are brave enough, or stupid enough, you can go for this view of DCA.


If you get some of the upper floors of the Disneyland Hotels, you can also get views like these.




So the next time you are in Disneyland, don’t be afraid to do a little climbing and get as high as you can. There are some great views from up there.

You know, if I didn't know any better I'd say this one of the matterhorn from Innoventions looks like HDR. It's a beautiful picture, and I don't think the clouds detract much. I prefer Disneyland on a cloudy/rainy day because the light is so nice & soft.

Thanks. I like that one too. The monorail coming through and the reflection off it were just a fluke of good timing.

I was also surprised by how well the trees were lit by the sunlight that just peeked through the clouds. I took about a dozen pictures from that spot (the first 6 not realizing that my Aperture was at F/4.) I switched it to F/16, set the camera on the railing and the slower shutter let the light on the trees come out better and kept everything in sharp focus.
