Re: Should Disney put Wall-E and Eve in Space Mountain?

    In general, a resounding NO!

Now, if they wanted to hide them in the attraction, say like the old FED EX robots were in the late 90's, then I might at least consider it, but once you start there is the tendancy to let them take over so, in general, no -- it would ruin the feel of truly exploring space that I felt as a kid. I was facinated.

If done tastefully, I could see Wall-E and Eve riding around the ride. Other than that, I would have to say no.

I like Wall-E. I like Space Mountain. I like Wall-E for Tomorrowland in some format (interactive AA they tested would be nice, like Push).

But mixing two good things, in this case, would not be complimentary like peanut butter and chocolate = Reese's. It's more like......homemade ice cream on top of steak. Both good, but not so much when you put them together.

    Unnecessary so I vote no.

It is however a good fit into the overall Tomorrowland theme so I'm not against Wall-E getting an attraction of it's own though I would like to see something different than just a standard fantasyland style darkride if they did.

I still think the grim premise of everything in WALL-E is fundamentally incompatible with the optimism that Tomorrowland has attempted to convey, and that mixing the two would only serve to dilute each one's valid but distinct messages...but that's just me.

I'm going to say no. The futures presented in both don't corrolate, they contradict.

This would serve two valuable purposes:

    1. More cartoons in the park.

    2. More Pixar in the park.

What's not to like about this?

Re: Should Disney put Wall-E and Eve in Space Mountain?

Perhaps if they decided to do some sort of seasonal overlay they could have WALL-E and EVE fly around like how Bob floats around in Ghost Galaxy, except have them float with their white and blue trails (ala WoC) and they could play "Define Dancing" on the speakers... but that'd be a mood killer for the ride, remove all anticipation, and really strip the maturity from the attraction.

Now, let's say Disney created a park in a place where thrills are not culturally welcome yet they still want to include the iconic Space Mountain. THEN they could make a tamer track for the mountain and turn the whole thing into a sort of "tunnel of love" attraction with tame thrills and most of the action in the form of WALL-E and EVE floating around and special effects. Come to think of it, this wouldn't make for a bad complimentary attraction for Space Mountain, perhaps a KUKA arm dark ride next to Space Mountain...

I will say that I wouldn't mind seeing a WALL-E projection tumble through space on very rare occasions. It'd have to be one of those things that very few guests would see, just a little Easter egg that makes you go, "Did I really just see that?" Kinda like the Millennium Falcon.

don't think the characters would add anything to the ride... but like datameister said, it would be kinda cool to spot a 'hidden wall-e' if you're lucky!

A little WALL-E that flies by quickly with a fire extinguisher propelling him.

Sort of like the shooting star that sometimes appears in POTC near the Blue Bayou. Not always there, and not a big presence, but fun when you get to see it fly by once in a while.
