Dark Rides!

Dark Rides: do you think the Disneyland Resort needs more of them? If so based on what theme?

I definitely think a few more dark rides need to be put in. I wouldn't mind seeing a Lion King dark ride being squeezed into Adventureland. DCA definitely needs them. At least they have one coming soon, but perhaps one based on Brother Bear could be placed near Grizzly Peak.

And yes, I'd also like to see a Little Mermaid dark ride put somewhere, hopefully in Fantasyland.

Re: Dark Rides!

ORDDU: Does Disneyland need more DARK Rides?! But, of course, ducklings!! Where else is a witch to find the necessary privacy she needs--while snuggling up close to the handsome hunk next to her? Why, I can't BEGIN to tell you all the many, many adventures I've personally had in the dark. (Of course, I was never the kiss and tell type, you know.)

Re: Dark Rides!

Yes, they do... Where to put them though is the question...

A Little Mermaid dark ride is LONG over due... So is Beauty and the Beast... Aladin too... Let the music inspire the ride...

Re: Dark Rides!

The dark rides made disneyland. If it wasnt for pirates or haunted mansion. Disneyland would be stupid. Those two rides alone have so much history and stories behind them and thats what makes them and Disneyland special. If there were no dark rides, Disneyland would might as well be called Knotts Berry Farm. New Disney dark rides dont have the same magic as the old ones did. Even though they are dated. They are historical and I think they should stick with the origionals. If Disneyland needs any ride back. Its the Peoplemover.

Hmmm... Knotts has/had dark rides... Calico Mine, Log ride (much older than splash mind you), Bear-y Tales (removed for dinosaurs now empty), the old soap box race was one of my favs...

I think you mean if there where no dark rides, Disneyland would be Six Flags... I can't think of one dark ride that ever was at Magic Mountain...

Re: Dark Rides!

Yes, Disneyland needs a new dark ride. I suggest having a single room lit by a blacklight called "The Amazing World of Lint - Presented by Monsanto".

You can send the check now.

Re: Dark Rides!

I want to see a ride version of Fantasmic with Indy vehicle technology. That way, we can have a nice big meshing of all these smaller dark rides people want. Problem is, it would need a HUGE amount of space to be properly executed.

Re: Dark Rides!

What do you all think about an "evolution of Disneyland" ride? It could be people-mover-esque, but start out in a dark orange grove to go to a vacant lot to the start of disneyland to when they took out holidayland to when they put in splash and toontown etc etc etc to the present. It could also work as a sort of Star-Tourish ride too, although that would cut down on privacy. if that makes any sense. I'm tired.

Re: Dark Rides!

ORWEN: Well, I'm still waiting to see them make a dark ride on one of the greatest Disney movies of all time--known to all as The Black Cauldron!
