Re: Fate of DCA's California Zephyr train facade?

The California Zephyr was the first thing I looked for on my very first DCA visit and I just love to look at it when we visit. It has charm. But I can sort of see that it could not fit into the new theme of DCA. It could somehow fit into CarsLand, since the engine is 50s vintage. I also just like the word 'zephyr'. Z words always intrigue me.

i was not saying it had to be near the entrance, from what i have been told DCA will have several decades respresented thru the park from the 1920's to the mid 1950's. There are also some ideas thrown around for other undeveloped pieces of land including behind Tower.

lets also not forget like someone mentioned it could easily be incorporated to future Carsland development.

I think it would be cool even if they worked into the new expansion of DTD in the drop-off area. DTD already has a kind of eclectic California feel so it could fit in quite well.

Lots of things will be going to the Disney Graveyard. I hope they auction it to finance phase 2.

If I remember correctly, isn't the engine from the final Zephyr run. Some what historic don't you think. If Disney gets rid of it,I bet there are some serious railroad historians who would want it.

Actually, the F unit (diesel) wasn't even an actual WP Zephyr locomotive. In fact, the unit was made in Canada for the Canadian National Ry., where its number was 9165.

Just more Disney magic at work!

This building with the awning and tower (housing the info booth) were one of the few themeing choices that I really liked when the park opened. It figures that it is being torn out.
