World of Color: Little Squirt at the end

I was thinking about Little Squirt this last Sat when I watched the 10:15 World of Color performance.

Little Squirt was to represent the spirit of Walt in form of a small orange fountain throughout the show based on the presentations at BSC and D23 by Steve Davison.

When the videos of the test-shows of WOC surfaced, the character was nowhere to be seen.

When people finally saw the show, it became clear that Little Squirt was not in the show and was said to be cut. When I saw the show and saw the orange fountain at the end of the exit number, I knew that was Little Squirt.

I think I figured out what Steve tried to do based on my observation.

The idea of Little Squirt making his bow at the end of the exit number can lead to many reasons.

I personally thnk that this wasn't a last minute addition.

Since Little Squirt is suppose to be the spirit of Walt, I think this is suppose to remind us that in the World of Disney, Walt's Legacy and Spirit lives on through time and that he will always be there and to continue to inspire others to follow the same path (Pixar) and deliver classics that famlies can love and enjoy.

To make it short: It all started with a man. A man with a dream. And a Mouse (reason for Mickey's apperance being only in the finale.)

    Your thoughts?

I can't believe I never noticed the little orange fountain at the end. I had to go onto youtube to see what you were talking about but I think it's really neat that they included Little Squirt like that. Maybe it means they didn't forget about him... Maybe Steven Davison will find a way to get him back in there somehow...

Those are some deep thoughts. maybe WAY too deep. Steve probably put lil' squirt in the finale so he would be gone but not forgotten.

    just my 2 cents

I'm glad Little Squirt is at the end instead of being throughout the entire show. It seems more special at the end somehow.

I thought multiple appearances would be too much, and some people might not even get the reference... that's possibly why they cut it out, but I'm glad they put in a little homage at the end there.

When I watched WoC, people seemed to understand that the orange fountain was "taking a bow". Nobody mentioned Little Squirt, though.

    This.
There are multiple reasons why they cut off scenes/parts from WOC.
For instance the Alice in Wonderland scene was said to look awful when actually seen on the fountains.
What Stevo said is probly one of those reasons

Re: World of Color: Little Squirt at the end

Like you all say, there are various reasons why Little Squirt was majorly cut for the most part. But I had thought about that a lot and developed a theory on Little Squirts cameo at the end of the exit number.

Maybe once WOC 2.0 rolls in, we will see more of what the show was meant to be. Maybe Little Squirt will be added back in.
