The Many Adventures of Wickeddisneygurl: 7/22-7/27

    Part 1:

It's time for another installation of the wickeddisneygurl Disneyland trip report. After a quick trip up to Seattle with my family, we came home for a day and then headed to Disneyland. After we gathered our luggage up at the airport, we headed to the Disneyland Hotel to check in and unpack. We got to stay in the newly remodeled Dreams Tower. The rooms are beautiful! I was so excited to be staying in that tower!

Our next stop was the Monorail to ride into Disneyland!

After getting off of the Monorail, we headed into the jungle!

    We then sailed with pirates:

I was so happy to see the dirty-footed pirate back since he disappeared in the middle of my trip last year:

I noticed that one of the pigs was missing, but it was back by Tuesday.

We then wandered over to Big Thunder Ranch to see the animals:

This one was doing his best Big Thunder goat impression:

Since the lines were long for everything, we stopped for frozen drinks and watched the submarines go by:

We then hopped back on the Monorail as my mom had to go to something back at the hotel. While she was gone, my dad napped while I shopped at Downtown Disney and mailed off a job application that I had completed on the plane. When she was finished, we got dinner in Downtown Disney and then went back to Disneyland.

On the train, I noticed that the upstairs storage door was open near Tomorrowland:

I couldn't figure out if this was normal or not, but it was open every time we went by.

After riding around on the train for awhile, we decided to ride It's a Small World:

After we got off, we headed to the Matterhorn to watch the fireworks and then went back to the room. We didn't ride very many rides the first day as we arrived so late, but we had five more days left!

    Part 2 coming up!

Re: The Many Adventures of Wickeddisneygurl: 7/22-7/27

    Part 2:

On Friday morning, we rode the Monorail into the park after grabbing breakfast at the coffee house at the hotel:

We got off the Monorail and headed straight for Finding Nemo:

After Finding Nemo, we had some fun in Tomorrowland. We grabbed a Fastpass for Space Mountain and then went to Captain EO. After Captain EO, we went on one of many trips on Star Tours:

We then walked over to Pirates of the Caribbean and then duck-watched along the Rivers of America:

We then decided to ride Winnie the Pooh, grabbed a snack, and then went on the Mark Twain:

After the Mark Twain, we got a Fastpass for Big Thunder, got lunch, and then walked around for awhile.

In the afternoon, it became very crowded and so we headed back to the hotel to rest:

When we got back, we headed over to the Jungle Cruise:

I give you the backside of water!

I must say that during the trip I saw encountered a lot of very funny skippers. They did a great job delivering the scripted jokes and making them their own.

That evening, we ate dinner at Big Thunder Barbecue. It was good, but rather expensive. Afterward, we walked over to New Orleans Square to check in as we had reserved seating for Fantasmic!

After we checked in, we decided to ride the Haunted Mansion:

Here's what the boxed meal looked like:

We could get whatever we wanted to drink. The boxed meal is a great deal and it was so nice to not have to camp out for a seat!

This was my first time seeing Murphy in person:

I think that it is so great to see Tiana on the Mark Twain at the end!

After Fantasmic! and watching the fireworks, we went back to the room. Saturday was an early entry day and we wanted to get some rest.

    Part 3 coming soon!

Re: The Many Adventures of Wickeddisneygurl: 7/22-7/27

    Part 3:

Saturday was an early entry day and so we headed in on the Monorail at 7:00. I spent quite a bit of the day videoing and so there are not very many pictures.

I was so sad to see Alice in Wonderland closed, but at least I was prepared. I'd read about the closure the Wednesday before we left. There were workers up on the track:

We went over to Space Mountain and then over to Fantasyland. We wanted to get on Buzz Lightyear, but they weren't opening until 8:00. Our first stop in Fantasyland was Dumbo:

We then rode Mr. Toad (which I videoed), the Tea Cups, and Peter Pan (which I also videoed). After Peter Pan we went over to Tomorrowland to ride Buzz Lightyear and then the River Belle Terrace for breakfast. We then rode Splash Mountain two times in a row with very little wait and then went over to Pirates of the Caribbean, the Jungle Cruise, and the Tiki Room.

My mom and I then decided to go over to DCA to watch Muppet Vision:

After spending some time in DCA (and discovering our love of Vinylmation Jr.), my mom and I shopped in Downtown Disney and walked back to the hotel.

Later that afternoon, we rode the Monorail back to Disneyland:

After eating dinner, we went over to Pirates of the Caribbean. We were again stuck in the extended queue (the line was that long!):

Afterward, we went on the Jungle Cruise, walked around for awhile, watched the fireworks, and then walked back to the hotel. Sunday was another early entry day and we wanted to be well-rested.

    Part 4 coming soon!

Re: The Many Adventures of Wickeddisneygurl: 7/22-7/27

    Part 4:

Sunday was another early entry day. We decided to take the Monorail into the park:

After riding the Matterhorn and Buzz Lightyear (twice), we headed over to Fantasyland to ride Snow White, Pinocchio, and Peter Pan.

We then went over to Casey Jr.:

On our way to breakfast, we decided to ride Big Thunder:

While my parents ordered breakfast at the River Belle Terrace, I grabbed us all Indiana Jones Fastpasses.

We were joined by some friends at breakfast:

After breakfast, we went on Pirates of the Caribbean and then hopped on the train to head over to Toontown:

When we got to Toontown, we found out that Roger Rabbit was up and running and so we decided to ride it. However, when we got to the front, we found out that the ride had broken down again!

We decided to just walk around Toontown:

After we were done in Toontown, we got back on the train:

We decided to get off of the train at Main Street and journey over to DCA to grab fastpasses for Soarin' Over California, ride Midway Mania (I will resist the urge to go on a rant about the amount of line cutting and jumping that went on), the Maliboomer, and the Silly Symphony Swings. We then played some of the games on the boardwalk, bought some more Vinylmation Jr. key chains, and ate lunch at Cocina Cucamonga. After lunch, we used our Soarin' Fastpasses (I missed the MC meet because I got stuck in the Soarin' line. We had Fastpasses and the line still took forever!) and then my dad headed back to the hotel. My mom and I ventured over to Muppet Vision, rode the Tower of Terror, and grabbed a Schmoozie. We then did some shopping and headed back to the hotel. We came back to Disneyland in the early evening. Our first stop was Main Street to check out the Disney Gallery and watch Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.

We then opted to go back to Toontown on the train to visit Minnie's House:

After exploring Toontown some more, we walked over to It's a Small World:

After It's a Small World, we walked decided to use our Indiana Jones Fastpass and then watched the fireworks.

After the fireworks, we got back on the Monorail to go back to the hotel:

Part 5, 6, and videos coming tomorrow!

It has been a year since we've been to Disneyland and I really do miss it. Thank you for bringing into my livingroom. I love the pictures and laughed at the Backside of Water.
