Stitch Mountain? Man we dodged a bullet...

    The Neverland Files: Stitch Mountain

Good thing that never got off the ground, you think people are cranky about Stitch in IASW or Nemo in the Subs, imagine if THAT happened.

I believe it was the reason he was part of all the space mountain segments in the disneyland commercials around that time(The footage gets reused a lot).

Oh man we did doge a bullet. Although it looks quite fun and well themed, it just would not be a smart choice at all. SM is fine as what is has been and is now. To take this classic, iconic attraction and throw stitch all over is just a no.

To be fair, I wouldn't be against a Stitch themed ride by any means, just totally retheming a classic ride to promote a movie popular at the time is just a bad idea. I mean, Disney isn't that crazy, right? :-p

In one of those concept images, one of the Space Mountain rockets has a Star Command logo on it. How many franchises could they have crammed into one attraction?

I agree. The concept art shows it was well themed however it still was HORRIBLE idea. If Tomorrowland was to be rethemed, maybe to be like Sci Fi City(TDL was supposed to get Sci Fi City redo)...I wouldn't be against a little stich addition(not in SM) like as a scene in one of the buildings if PM was to resurface. Heck, if TL turned to a Sci Fi City theme, Buzz and Star Tours would fit much better and I would love to see the rumored Wall E edition in Magic Eye theatre

I love Stitch, but if this happened, it would be horrible.

God forbid they did it and decided to go further... retheme thunder mountain w/ Woody in it... and replace the Snowman in the Matterhorn with Johnny Depp just to show their contempt for their audience.

Sadly this is what Disney does when films are wildly popular.
Fun Fact: at Disneyland Paris there was going to be an Aladdin Bazzar area with a Giant Genie overlooking the land

It actually came closer to fruition than many of you know. TDA has been eying the huge success of stitch at TDL for their Tiki Room, and want to mimic this on Space Mountain as recent as just a few months ago.

A bit conflicting, it looks like some real thought went into the Stitch overlay, much more than Rockin' Space Mountain, it seems like a fun summer promotion kind of thing..HK Disneyland should have tried it to go along with their Stitch and Friends Summer Hangout. I'm glad they opted not to do it, the regular version and Ghost Galaxy are enough.

I don't mind temporary attractions or overlays to promote new stuff, it's the shortsited things like making permanent changes to rides based on whats popular at that moment that bug me.

While it looks like they would've implemented it at least relatively well (from the concept art), I can't stand the thought of losing Space Mountain completely to have this version of things.

Wow I would hate that. I will agree that it does look like a very cool, well thought-out ride with a good story and theme. But rethemeing a classic is a recipe for disaster.
    Especially if it's Stitch.

I guess I'm one of the few people who genuinely hate Stitch. I loved him in Lilo and Stitch, and love him as a character.
But as soon as he got popular Disney jumped on it and included him in EVERYTHING, that's when I got sick of him.
Once it became "Fab 5 + Stitch" I was done.

In my opinion, this would have worked fine for HKDL.
