re: Disneyland - Old Photos and Ephemera Thread

And away we go again, thanks to all for commenting! Enjoy!

First off, if you look closely, this "tourist" is in fact the boss himself, trying to mingle with the guests on Main Street

A very fun and "spirited" (heh heh) Marc Davis concept sketch for the Haunted Mansion.

As it says, the paper packet for a early Viewmaster reel. The captions on back list one misspelling, for "Snow White's Scarey Adventures"

A site for sore eyes: the Rocket Jets atop the PeopleMover platform, from a souvenir guidebook.

A very nice postcard view of guests enjoying a trip through Alice's Wonderland.

That's it for now, as always, there is lots more if interest is there

    And time for some more

Enjoy the view from the peak of the mighty Matterhorn! And make sure to wave hi to the mountain climber down there.

From the same "Donald Duck in Disneyland" little golden book comes this illustration of a Jungle Cruise boat passing behind the famous backside of water.

In Bear Country in the mid-seventies? Stop by the Mile Long Bar!

An unusual view of the Witch's cauldron scene in Snow White

A Hatbox Ghost look-alike welcomes visitors on the cover of a Haunted Mansion pop-up book.

That's it for now, as always, thanks for looking and enjoy!

And since I have a good amount of odds and ends saved and many a book about the park, may as well throw it out there...any paericular subjects or specific things people want to see? No promises, of course, but if I have anything requested will certainly share it!

re: Disneyland - Old Photos and Ephemera Thread

For this post, have a photo extravaganza, I suppose...enjoy!

A few of the animal residents of America Sings, before they took up living in the swamps and marshes of Critter Country.

Very crowded view of Space Mountain with the old upramps.

Skyway buckets pass over a very busy patch of Fantasyland, with the Pirate Ship/Tuna boat visible on the left.

The highlight of any visit: Monsanto's Hall of Chemistry.

"You think me.....BEAUTIFUL?" clack clack clack clack

And last but not least, a very peaceful early view of the waterfront of the Rivers of America, raft to Tom Sawyer's island visible in the background.

    Thanks for looking as always!

Thanks for posting this! As a science geek kid, I can tell you that the Hall of Chemistry was awesome. The feeling of being there at night wasn't anything like what you get from the photo -- it was more like walking around in a Disney version of the Krell laboratory from Forbidden Planet.

Great description, Mr. Wiggins! You make it sound very neat indeed, I can only imagine what seeing it in person would be like...glad I could share and bring back some memories.

This is my new favorite thread! Thanks RegionsBeyond!

Can I request some more Tomorrowland stuff? I love seeing how vibrant and lively it used to be. And also (if I'm not being too greedy) some more Adventureland stuff?

Those are both fair requests, and rest assured, material from both is easy to come by I've got some interesting views of both areas that will be showing up over time, and glad you enjoyed so far! Thanks for the comment.
