    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

    Re: The better tree?

Well, I LOVE the Disneyland Tree, it is REAL, and big and gold, and just matches real well on Main Street.

The DCA tree is nice, but as always, Disney had to open up its mouth and hype it, and it REALLY doesn't match up to the hype....

The AP newsletter claimed that the lighting of the DCA tree would be a "magical Disney moment"... My girlfriend said "what the ____" it was nothing, it might have been nicer if it was darker out, but there was an announcement, and not even any special music, just that Tinkerbell (a stationary figure on top of the tree) lights the tree.. it was just "blah" And I have seen other posters say the same basic thing that went to the 4:45 lighting ceremony yesterday at DCA.

And then they said "The newest holiday tree will be decorated with a non-traditional, contemporary color palette, reflecting the ambience and attitude of this Park" (referring to DCA).

Well, the tree is nice, but I don't see any sort of attitude, just a nice traditional Christmas tree....

    I like DCA's a lot...DL's is classy but DCA's is more fun, I think.

    Re: The better tree?

When I saw a thread titled "The Better Tree", I couldn't help but think it referred to the awesome Swiss Family Tree House vs. the abomination against man and nature known as the Tarzan Tree House. Of course, I have no opinion there. The holiday tree debate is far more controversial. In that case I would have to vote for the Disneyland tree because it is surrounded by Disneyland.

Because you know that's what everyone wants to hear. Fine. Maybe I won't post. No need to be rude about it.

    Re: The better tree?

There's nothing wrong with comparing the trees. We can discuss which is better. What's wrong with that? This is a discussion board.
I need to see pictures of both before I vote.

    Re: The better tree?

IMO, if the gold tree was in DCA a lot of people would dislike it. If DCA gets anything it's always met with, "well it could have been better." I'm surprised nobody has used the silliest remaeks yet. Such as, "I would like the DCA tree better if it was standing in the old parking lot.".....LOL

    Re: The better tree?

[off topic - I haven't seen the DCA tree w/ ornaments]
When Disney does things on the cheap, it deserves a lot of the negative criticism it gets. That goes for DCA, too. No, not everything about DCA is bad but there are huge flaws in that park. The numbers speak for themselves.

I'm beginning to question why certain opinions are not welcomed sometimes. As long as people follow the rules of this board, every civil opinion and relevant subject should be welcomed and up for discussion. If one doesn't care for the topic, they should avoid that thread.

    Re: The better tree?

Thank you for the link to the pics, DB! (Wow. Very crowded 11/11! At first I thought the BTM Ranch tree was DCA's tree. I was thinking 'D'oh!' )

I have to say that both trees are okay and I like them both about the same. I like the gold theme of DL's and the snowflakes on DCA's tree. If I had to pick one I'd say DL's for the tie-in to the 50th celebration.
