    A Disney Legend passes away...

Harrison "Buzz" Price, the man who helped create design studies for Disneyland and Disney World, passed away on August 15th at the age of 89. Price was originally asked by Walt and Roy Disney to conduct economic feasibility studies as they prepared to build Disneyland in the early 1950's.

In addition, he also conducted similar studies for 1964 World's Fairs, Six Flags, Sea World, 1960 Winter Olympics in the Lake Tahoe area and Universal Studios (Orlando), and he helped his father create The California Institute of the Arts (CalArts).

Prior to his death on December 15, 1966, Walt Disney took a deep interest in the establishment of California Institute of the Arts, a college-level professional school of all the creative and performing arts. Of Cal Arts Walt once said, "It's the principal thing I hope to leave when I move on to greener pastures. If I can help provide a place to develop the talent of the future, I think I will have accomplished something."

To that end I'd like the Internet community to join me in reminding the Disney company that "it all started with Walt." As you can see below we've created some T-shirts, plus a few simple graphics that you can copy and paste into your websites to let folks know how you feel.

Walt entrusted Buzz to complete his dream for CalArts. As Buzz has said, this was the arts college that Walt wanted to go to. Buzz was incredibly important to Walt and Roy Disney and a terrific guy. I had a chance to see him just a few weeks ago and he had some amazing stories. To learn more, I posted this on my Blog.

Thanks JMora. I have been writing Disney to have Buzz get a window on Main Street.
