The DL tree had some lighting problems on its first day, I hope that the electrical CM's got it fixed last night after closing.

And DCA had a lighting ceremony, in fact, I took pictures of it.

Alas, it was really lame. After reading the Passholder newsletter, I expected more. It wan't a "magical Disney moment". Also I didn't notice anything special about the tree, looked like a traditional tree to me.

I guess they were right when they said "reflecting the ambience and attitude of this Park"... non-magical and nothing different or special. Still a nice tree though.

Does anyone know if they will by adding the decorations that stretch across main street (garland-type, with balls and lights) and meet in the center with a Mickey head? Is this added later in the season? I love looking down from the hub at night and seeing those all lit up across Main Street (with the tree in the background)

No, due to the Parade of Dreams, which will still be running once a day, they cannot hang decorations over Main Street due to the heights of the floats.

FYI, the DL Christmas tree was fixed, and now is fully lit at night
