Not necessarily true. My little brother (non-AP) received a surprise fastpass for GRR on a busy summer day. The return time was 10:30am to 11:30am and the wait for GRR was about 45 min when we used it. He got the fastpass from the RSR machines at about 9:15am.

They have used these over the last couple years to move crowds around and advertise other attractions.

IME I've always used an AP when getting one but in some cases normal ticketed guests have got them too.

I want a surprise fastpass. What about the Dream Fast Pass from the Year Of A Million Dreams Promo? Who remembers those?
Stop by our website at http://disneylandblackoutdates.com to check
your blackout dates, get up to date info about Disneyland, and to just say

I always only got Ariel surprise FastpPasses haha.

BTW regarding RSR, I am not sure it works if people are only scanned in Disneyland and only one person goes to DCA.

While we were waiting in line forst RSR Fastpasses a CM came and said to someone "all parties have to be scanned in the park". Now I do not know if she meant DCA Park, Disneyland Park or if didn't matter which one.

It doesn't make a difference. Once a ticket is used to enter a park, it can be used in any FP machine in the resort.

Since this summer when DL and DCa started having the same opening time more people having been going into the parks with all the tickets but not the whole group. It may of been because of a strategy when DL opened and hour or two before DCA it was easy to go to DL go on rides and then send one over to DCA to get the WoC FPs.

Does anyone have an update on which FP machines are on or off the system?

I have heard a rumor that Screamin' is not connected anymore.

Far from a rumor. It's been disconnect for months. Roger Rabbit is disconnected in Disneyland Park. WoC FPs are not connected. Disneyland FPs are not connceted to California Adventure FPs.

Screamin' has indeed been offline since at least last summer.

Not any longer. While it sounds like a negative, it's more a mute point. Except when the park is very busy BTMRR has short lines in the 10-20 minute range. On slow days the FP kiosks are not even in operation.

FPs are good on the day they are issued. Most CMs verify that they are from that day.

I've heard many people BRAG that they got into the FP lines with old tickets.

So far the HMH FP has not been used this year. While many reports are spreading that CMs at the attraction say it won't be used, keep in mind most CMs only know what is happeing as far out as thier work schedule goes. There is a possiblity it will get used on the much busier times in October when many are there on Fall Breaks, around Veterans Day, Thankgiving and near Christmas.
