The Joy of Fastpass

I enjoy using fastpass alot....One time recently the line was about an hour wait in the evening about 8pm and my fastpass was 12pm that day (better late than never) The cast member still took it and I was in line for less than 5 minutes. It was great. I don't know why some people don't like the fastpass. I'm an ap holder and I use it as often as I can.

Its true that Disney doesn't follow the expiry time on FP tickets.

huh?

Disney does not enforce the expiry on Fastpass Tickets. Even if the ticket expires at say 2pm, they will let you board the ride near closing through the Fastpass line.

People don't like it because it makes Standby lines longer, inflating your wait at other rides.

Wow, I knew about them not caring about the ending time, but I had no idea about the 2 hour trick. Thanks! I will use this to get on all of my favorite rides!

How do you get a single rider ticket (on the rides that accept them of course)?

Just go up to a cast member at the entrance, I think. :) I've only used it at Indy, but it's pretty simple there - just politely ask for a single rider pass and then go down the exit. Eventually, you'll run into another CM, who'll put you into the line at the appropriate point. I assume the few other single rider attractions are similar.

All Single Rider attractions seem to have a CM at the entrance to the FP line who distributes the tickets.

I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I did a search and can only find info for WDW. Are the FP machines operational during early entry? If so, on a typical weekend, how long is the window for the first FP if you get it right at opening? I seem to remember it's around 40 minutes, but it's been years since I've been to Disneyland.

Also, I'll be arriving at the park tomorrow (Saturday) at around 1:30 pm. Is it likely that any FPs would still be available for Space Mountain or Indy at that time, or should I head over to Buzz Lightyear or HMH instead?
