Probably people who are current CMs are not allowed to share many of the crazy incidents...

I wouldn't gripe too much on here if you're a CM. You just never know who may be reading this.

    Re: CMS....crazy stories?

I'm not a CM, but before WOC one night, my boyfriend and I got a chance to talk to two of the Cast Members who were working crowd control.

They seemed really nice, and surprisingly calm for the amount of people coming to them with questions and things. We were curious and asked them if they got any training to deal with crowds. They laughed it off and said they didn't. And then the male CM laughed about the time some lady got upset and called him the devil in spanish. Can you imagine? Haha
There were a few more stories, but I don't remember it all. I just remember being really impressed with how calm, cool and collected they stayed with the huge crowds. They seemed to just take things lightly and laugh them off afterwards.

This is why I don't want to ever work at DL. The CMs have to bite their tongue when guests yell at them or even assault them. O.t.o.h. I can say to rude guests what CMs can't.

If CMs post their stories on facebook where you can easily get caught cause it's all under your name, I'm sure CMs can post their stories here. Me, myself? There are just too many! I've had about 5 today alone! LOL

As a former CM at the Blue Bayou Restaurant during the late 70s, most of the guest I encountered were tired, hungry and rather well behaved. I sat several guest by the water and they literally got totally gleeful by their luck. Crazy guest were few and far between.

Facebook is defaulted so only your netowrks can see what you post, and you can set it to show nothing to non-friends... you can even set it so you can't be searched. This forum, however, is completely public and really currently the best known Disneyland blog on the web (thanks to Al Lutz), and TDA is well aware of that. Hundreds of guests and many CMs, maybe even managers can read it, and we sure do get a lot of lurkers here looking for various infos as well.

As long as you're intelligent in your storytelling, there's no harm.

Employment experts recommend not complaining about their jobs on facebook either. I have problems with my job too but I am not about to put my job on the line by complaining about it on facebook. I have friends that do this but that doesn't mean it's right or intelligent. Facebook does have security features but that is no guarantee that your employer can find out what you are saying about them.

Sorry about the lecture. I just want to let people know what employment experts have to say about Facebook. In today's job market if you have a job I wouldn't suggest doing anything to jeopardize it no matter how absurd the suggestion may be.

This is true too. Always think twice before posting something. And this is good advice about anything not just complaints about one's job.
