Certainly couldn't complain about that if it comes to fruition (and in a reasonably tasteful way)!
I guess I'm the only one who's worried. C-3PO used to be one of my favorite characters in the old trilogy. Anthony Daniels returned to voice him but it was never the same. He began doing a parody of himself and raised his voice a few octaves. And it's not just the pitch of the voice that's wrong, it's how he delivers the lines.
Go ahead and watch the original trilogy again. C-3PO rarely studders or stammers. He does his sayings and is pretty clear on delivery. He does voice his horror and shock at times but it's not out of character.
Enter the prequels. C-3PO is now a studdering buffoon. "oh uh uh..." before everything he says. I wonder if this is Lucas wanting to make 3PO comedy relief or if it's Daniels own tinkering.
Either way, I'm a bit concerned that my Star Tours journey would be slightly annoying depending on his delivery.

Y'know, I never gave it too much thought before, but you're absolutely right. In the original trilogy, 3PO was certainly timid, but there was a directness to Daniels' delivery that's lacking in the prequels. Forgivable in TPM, seeing as how he's, like, a toddler, but it's unnecessary in the other two films.
Still, I have hope. I'm not sure why, but I'm just rather optimistic about this project as a whole. Hopefully I won't regret it.
And... is 3PO the pilot? Or is he just an animatronic along for the ride?

Regarding C3PO's voice during the Episodes 4-6 and Episodes 1-3...
Shouldn't we take in to account his memory was completely wiped for 4-6 from 3, so he was rebooted, and thus, fulfilled his true function as a protocol droid with confidence and articulation?
During 1-3, he's still Ani's toy, learning from the environment around him through his rudimentary programming. When the Rebels wiped his memory, perhaps new software and hardware was installed?
That's how I interpreted the difference. Great storytelling and attention to details, if you ask me. Which no one did, I guess.
Anthony Daniels did a great job.
