ElecTRONica opening day! I saw this on friday and my friend confirmed it for me on saturday but thought I would share since i didnt see a post on it yet here.

Disneyland confirmed on their Twitter page that Daft Punk is not performing at ElectTRONica October 8.

After clicking on the link and reading what was there, it is nothing but someone's speculation and theory. This shouldn't be labeled as "News" but more as a "Rumor" or even merged with the other thread that talks about this rumor or has the same wishes as the person that wrote the article from the link.
They will not be playing opening night, but there is no confirmation nor denial that they'll play some other date. of course, this is probably standard procedure - providing no answer and leaving things open until there is a completely certain scheduleAfter we peed our pants, we got in touch with Disney's people to confirm the rumor.
This is what John McClintock, of Disneyland Resort Public Relations, replied to my inquiry:
Nothing to announce at this time. We'll certainly let you know if there is. Thanks for your interest.
Doesn't that usually mean a yes?!?
We also got in touch with OM Records, who first posted it on Twitter--according to them, nothing is confirmed (oh, glorious internet) but someone knows someone who knows something...and there you go.
The posting just seems to be optimistic on things, but really, the truth is that at the moment, they are not and assume that they wont be until an official announcement.

No it doesn't. It just means that they're listening to what guests want and we all have to wait until the future to see what Disney will bring us - no guarantees.
All in all, this is definitely not news, but just an opinion piece rich with speculation. Daft Punk is NOT playing opening day and unless we hear otherwise from a Disney PR person, don't expect them to anytime.

LASERMAN? While, it looks cool but couldn't they come up with a better name? LOL

Disney didn't come up with that name.. They hired him to perform at the event. According to his videos on youtube, Laserman the Experience is based in Australia..

But also, they said that Daft Punk wouldn't be performing on the 8th, not that they weren't performing at all. So you never know!
