First they bring back the Pirates Genere, and then the old Westerns. I <3 Depp, Bruckheimer, Verbinsky.

This is what I've been saying! I love the thought of it and hope we do see something come from it. They can have a face character walking around like they did Jack Sparrow, it would be the perfect time to announce a new western themed ride and they already have the Big Thunder BBQ (very yummy in my opinion).

It seems to me like the pirate craze is slowly easing so why not bring back interest in the old west?

When I was like 5 or 6 years old (early 1970's) the old black and white Lone Ranger reruns were playing everyday. I loved them! I had a toy horse in the backyard I would play on and be the Lone Ranger.

Of course they would need to make it more PC and stop calling the American Indian sidekick "Stupid" in Spanish.

Re: Will We See The Lone Ranger Coming to Frontierland Soon?

This is rather old news, and according to the article, they still haven't nailed down any production date, yet. Wonder if Ted and Terry have the script completed yet? The movie was announced nearly two years ago, and since then Disney kicked out Cook. And hardly a word about this project has been breathed since then.

If Ted and Terry can get a good script written, and if the right person was cast as the Lone Ranger, I would be really interested in seeing the movie. It does have potential giving us a popular western, for the first time in a couple decades.

But some serious progress needs to be done on this idea soon, otherwise I fear that the project might just get shelved.

Depends on the suits' confidence in the film.

I'd love to see something, but I'm not so sure about another film tie-in. If it's temporary, then sure. But if it's permanent, then count my vote as no.
I am really looking forward to seeing this film though. I've always been a fan of the Lone Ranger show, and Johnny as Tonto is going to be pretty awesome!

Frontierland has always been the forgotten land. It's about time it got some much needed love.

They already have Depp's face imprint for an AA, so making more and more movies with him makes financial sense. haha
