Eating and relaxing?

Okay so this could be the most ridiculous question... but as we get older and still want to enjoy every livin' minute of our day while in the park, (since I now live so far away) we also realize we gotta take it easy. Yes? And when we eat is when we rest. Yes?

So here's my question: Can we take food on the monorail or railroad? I've never asked or tried. Since the railroad has open cars.... I can't believe I've never gotten food and taken a ride to relax while eating and still seeing the park.

Is this so obvious I'm a dork for asking? I'm thinking a corndog and a coke.

Nah, I think it's a good question!

I didn't see folks eating on the RR or the Monorail on my last trip (apart from some kids drinking out of juice boxes), but I've no idea if it's officially discouraged. I wouldn't be surprised if it was not allowed, as the seating on them does not seem conducive to eating - and eating tends to be messy, so I'm not sure it would be a good idea.

I've taken popcorn and a coke on the railroad and the cast member didn't say anything.

I've actively had a soda or beverage on the railroad many times with nothing said about that. If you pull out a whole meal though, that's likely a different story..

That's why I thought maybe a corndog. Especially if we are already eating it. I guess we'll give it a shot, if not we'll just park it on a bench nearby and wait.

When we were in WDW last May, they wouldn't even let you drink water on the train. We've carried and drank water aboard the DLR RR and monorail many times without hearing anything about it. Strange there would be such different policies between the parks.

Hmm, interesting. I think we'll just take our chances? What's the worst that can happen? They say "no" and we sit near the station and relax there.

The point IS that I'll be back at the mothership!!

When we go we usually use the Railroad as our relaxer for the feeties. Usually have a snack or two never been questioned.

Food and drink isn't allowed on the Monorail. I purchased a coffee in DTD and tried to take it with me on the monorail back into the park and they insisted that I either throw it away or finish it prior to boarding.

I'm not sure about the Railroad.

Technically you are not allowed to eat or drink on the Disneyland railroad. Cast members will allow you on with a cup that is covered but will probably say something to you if you try to eat on the train depending on who the conductors are and how strict they are being.

I have heard many times on the Monorail not to bring on food or drink. Water is always the exception, but nothing more.

I dont think there was a time I was on the RR without eating hahaha but i dunno about the monorail
