    How bad is Thanksgiving Day?

We have gone around (and on) holidays before (day after Thanksgiving and day after Christmas, New Years, day after New Years, on Labor day, etc) but have not been on Thanksgiving day. A lot of our family will be traveling out of town this year so we have been thinking about taking the one remaining person to Disneyland on Thanksgiving. This is someone who hasn't been in around 15 years and who has some minor mobility issues so if it is going to be wall to wall people like on New Years then it would probably not be great for them, but if the crowds are more reasonable like Labor day or the day after Christmas then I think we would take them.

Anyhow if you have any advice or crowd comparisons I would appreciate it.

I've never been to Disneyland on Thanksgiving, but I would assume that the turkey leg carts might need a fastpass option.

My sister and her family went over Thanksgiving and said that Thanksgiving Day was not busy at all. That's what she said at least, she could have been trying to make me jealous.

    Good news and bad news.

    There are 1,000,000 APers now.

Most of them will be blocked for Thanksgiving.

We have been to Disneyland on Thanksgiving the past three years and generally the crowds are thin, not hectic and the place is more Christmasy than Thanksgiving. Naturally, the restaurants are quite the busy places. Make a seating call as soon as possible for a restaurant, if you intend to eat a Thanksgiving meal. Yes, the premium passport is the only one which gets you in on Thanksgiving. We'll be eating at Ariel's Grotto, not for the WoC seating, but for the Princesses, which our daughter eagerly anticipates.
That being said, I hope I didn't jinx it.

I've always heard its dead. Then again that was years ago.

We went on T_Day in 1994. It was wall to wall people.

But as others have pointed out things are different now (1,000,000 blocked APs). My new rule of thumb is that the best time to go to DL (crowdwise) is when the SoCal APs are blocked.

I'll be there on Thanksgiving Day next month. It's my birthday. We'll get through it (crowds or no crowds, but def. with a Dole Whip) together.
