My illustration tribute to The Skyway

I've been learning Adobe Illustrator and decided to practice my skills with this humble tribute to The Skyway. Hope you like it!

I think the People Mover might be my next subject.

It looks like a 70's Ocean Pacific shirt.

looking pretty cool. my suggestion would be perhaps give the background more of a gradient instead of the 3 colors you already have. i would go for 5 at the least so the transition is softer

Love it! You did a great job. Simple and clean.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

Thanks - That's exactly what I was going for!

I worked on a black and white version with a foggy gradient background, too, but the gradient came out too striped and I couldn't fix it in Photoshop. For now it's retro stripes. Maybe I'll work on some variations, though.

Wow, that's very cool. I could see them selling a shirt like that.

I was thinking I could sell a shirt like that...but I'm not sure how the Disney legal team would feel about it. There's nothing clearly identifiable as Disney-specific, though.

This is real nice. I've always liked Vector art, I've just always found it really tedious to get all those anchor points just the way you want 'em.

    Love the simplicity.

Just a little smooching, totally PG! I resisted the urge to have someone spitting or chucking pennies.

Anchor points are verrrry tedious and I'm not very good at getting the curves to come out as well as I'd like, but copy/paste obviously helped on this one. The silhouettes I traced from photos with the blob brush so they were pretty easy.

Nice work. Actually that's what I was thinking, if this was a tribute to Disneyland's Skyway then you should have included something Disneyland, like one of the people wearing mouse ears or have the Matterhorn and/or Sleeping Beauty Castle silhuoette in the background. Because just looking at it like that with no commentary, it can be any gondola lift. But if you plan on selling it, then leaving Disney out of it will be a good idea. I really like the design principles and composition you used! Great job! This is a really nice tribute!
