Glad you got to see the apartment! The grilled cheese maker is my favorite, too!
I hope you're sitting down. As a kid I used to hang out behind the Citrus House on more than one occasion...

It's not a big deal, I just don't want the Guide to get in trouble for "allowing" the photo, whether it's "just stairs" or not. Our managers can be really harsh on stuff like that. Sorry, I was trying to ask as politely as possible without ruining what was obviously a really special treat!

The furniture and finishes look sooooo dated.

Needs to be completely remodeled IMO.

Re: Walt's Apartment - A rare opportunity for a private tour - lots of pics

    In response to several posts...
How did we get to see Walts apt? We won this tour in a silent auction that was held for CM's to raise money for CHOC Hospital. In addition,It included a private lunch at the Disney Culinary Institute prepared by the head chef of Storytellers. That was awesome too! They sat us at a table in the kitchen and we watched them prepare our meal.

The Orange Juice story goes something like this, Walt would wander over to the Sunkist OJ place late at night in his robe (he had a key) So sunkist gave him his own juicer but he never used it because he liked it over there better. (I totally butchered this story)

I decided to remove the picture at the bottom of the stairs as it revealed ever so slightly a peek backstage which is frowned upon by Disney. As far as photo restrictions went, we were told that no inappropriate photos such as posing on the potty, or playing dead would be allowed, other than that the sky was the limit. I took a lot more pictures. you can see more on flickr. Flickr: Pointed & Shot's Photostream

I'm utterly jealous. Walt's apartment is even more exclusive and harder to get into than Club 33, if that's even possible!

And you had Dean as your guide! The King of Plaids. He shadowed our guides on our Adventures By Disney tour over the summer. Great guy who's spent 20 years working for the mouse!
I'm literally a born Disney fan! I was born at Providence St. Joseph Med Center right across the street from Disney Studios in Burbank. The same hospital where Walt died.

yes, he was awesome and so gracious. we had as much time as we wanted to just hang out and he told us story after story, didn't feel rushed at all except that we had a lunch appt. to get to. I could have sat in Walts Apt. all day.

Was your chef named Chris by chance? He's a friend, and use to be a chef at Club 33. Great guy.

And as everyone here has said, thanks for sharing all of the great pictures!
