Toy Story parking lot is a great lot. It was only full back on Veteran's Day weekend. But other than that, it is usually not even half full, even on the weekends. That will probably change this coming week though with Thanksgiving crowds..
I've never parked there either, but I've never liked the M&F so this seems like a good thing to explore. But as someone asked before, what are the operating hours of this lot? Is it just one level? Seems like it must be adjacent to the Convention Center, since I've heard that CMs who work there also handle crowds for their events at times.

I agree - TS is far, far superior to the MFPS. The thing I hate about the parking structure is the variability of outcomes in terms of time spent trying to park and getting into the park. If you are REALLY lucky, i.e. no line to pay/show AP, get a parking spot near the front of the structure, no tram lines, you can get into the park faster with the MFPS. However, far more often I end up in a 10-15 minute line to park at MFPS (even with the 'trick' of moving to the left-most lane upon entering), end up near the back of the structure, and have to stand in another long line for the tram. And on really busy days I've been stuck in line for 30 minutes at MFPS. TS never has a line of more than 2-3 cars to enter, a relatively short walk to the busses no matter where you park, the same 7 minute drive with no wait every time, and a very short walk to the park. Parking is the thing I disliked most about the DR, so the no stress TS lot has really made a difference to me.
By the way, one trick I've learned for TS for people driving in from the 57: exit off Orangewood instead of Katella - you then make a right onto Harbor and another right turn into TS - rather than 2 lefts, and there is usually a lot less traffic on Orangewood.
So I tried out the parking today. I don't really have an opinion about it. I do think its a little bit better than the structure but thats it. I still don't mind going to the structure but thats just how I feel.
Coming from Central Orange County and south of that, the structure is a major inconvenience to get to, as the luxuries of directly connecting to the structure for those approaching from north are non-existent. You have to get off at Harbor then go left on Ball and left on Disneyland Drive, all the while having to deal with everyone else trying to do the same thing alongside regular Anaheim residents trying to use these streets for everyday purposes. The approach is awkward and the traffic is a major bottleneck.
Toy Story is a lot easier to get to for the rest of us. The conveniences that other posters have described is just icing on the cake.
The benefits of the Toy Story lot far outweigh it's disadvantages of not being covered or not having bathrooms.
Quick question related to parking:
Why doesn't Disney ever use the Pumbaa lot any more? That was my favorite place to park, within easy walking distance to the resort.
Again, the operating hours, please?
Thank you POISONEDAPPLES!
It's still open on VERY busy days. They fill it first, then Toy Story. It was open yesterday for example.
Should open one hour before the park. Again, if they are using Pumbaa, they will fill it first - THEN open Toy Story (unless there's too much demand - then they will open both). So TS really doesn't have a definite opening time.
TS (like M&F) seem to be pay-to-park until 3 hours before Disneyland closing, then you can still park but the attendants are gone (based on observation).

Thank you POISONEDAPPLES!
I will be trying this lot out tomorrow morning for the meet Sunday. Coming on 5 South (as in from the LA area), what's the best way to get there? And does it open at 8AM tomorrow same as M and F? If I missed the information on directions earliuer in the thread, I apologize in advance.
Thank you POISONEDAPPLES!
