Lightbulb Should video game attractions be in Disneyland?

Okay my first thread didn't go so well, so here's a second try at it.

Now I'm nowhere to being in the know on theme parks (compared to most people here), so I decided to talk about something I really know alot about...video games.

Here's the question/questions I have to ask for this thread.

    1. Would attractions based on video games work in a Disney Park?

    2. What video game franchises would disney use to build attractions around?

Like to hear what ideas people can come up with.

Naah, video game rides just won't work. Usually video games involve killing people, and that's not very Disney-like.
Hail Matt Ouimet, the savior of Disneyland!

If they could trap all the annoying teens in there, I'd vote for them.

It would be hard for me to find a video game that would appeal to the Disney Ideals ... the only ones that come to mind are based off of Disney movies

Well I think Nintendo would fit perfectly in a disney park.

Family friendly, plus they have well known franchises (Mario, Zelda, Metriod, Star Fox, etc.).

Mario dark ride doesn't seem to be to out of the question. Metriod and Star Fox would easily fit in a future land type setting. Maybe disney could make a Lord of the Rings war type attraction for Zelda.

A Halo type thrill ride would work perfect for that. The only problem I see with a halo ride is that the Halo franchise is a fairly young franchise. The FPS genre is shuch a fickle genre. Something could easily come along and totally kill the Halo franchise. Also microsoft doesn't have alot really well known franchises outside Halo.

How many franchises do they really need?

Square Enix gets my second vote for rides that can work in a Disney park.
They already have a great relationship with disney. Final Fantasy (in specific 7), Kingdom Hearts, Dragon Quest (well in Japan DQ is massively big), etc.

Well I assume that if disney were to build video game attractions, it may want to work with a company that has multiple well known video games under its belt.

Also let me correct myself. I assume the Halo series is a Bungie owned franchise, and not a Microsoft owned franchise. Kind of like how Rare owns the Perfect Dark series.

    Me too!

I've often thought that DL should have an adults only night every once in awhile. (Like where it stays open much later to those of us over 21... ) Please no flames on this - I don't mean it to be rude. I'd just like to ride POTC once without annoying teens singing (LOUDLY and off-key) and enjoy the HM without some 12 year old diva how loud she can scream. I know DL is a family type park, but it would be really nice to just have it for adults every once in awhile. I've seen on TV that there's mainstream movie theatres that you have to be 21 to attend... I like that thought.

As for a video game based ride, I think Disney would have to take more of an interest in video game character development. Right now, all of their games are based on already established movie or tv characters.

I know they can make for successful tv shows but rarely hit movies.

I think it's possible if it's well done.
