    June 1957, Disneyland Hotel

How about some really cool pictures from the Disneyland Hotel in 1957?

    LA Times:
    Jun 22, 1957 Jun 23, 1957
City of Hope Telerama Star StuddedTeleviewers will get a two-hour warmup tonight at 11 on KTLA (5), in preparation for tomorrow's Eight hour Telerama benefit for the City of Hope Medical Center. The drive is co-sponsored by the Greater Los Angeles....... A NEW WORD makes its appearance in television today. It's Telerama. The word was coined for the big eight-hour show on KTLA (5) today from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the benefit of the City of Hope Medical Center. One part of the show will be shot at the Disneyland Hotel.

    Cubby O'Brien on the drums.

    Annette performing a dance number.

This one is really cool and rare. Full color showing the Mouseketeers and the Disneyland Band set-up at the Disneyland Hotel's Olympic Size Pool. The KTLA camera is also shown.

The event would not have been complete without the creator of Disneyland in attendance.

Walt appears to be dropping a large dollar amount bill into the bowl while the gentleman on the right is only contributing $5. I am afraid I can't identify any of the other people in this picture. Can anybody help?

    Hope you enjoyed these pictures.

Cubby o'Brien spent many years on the road as drummer (along with Karen) of The Carpenters. Brother Richard's first pro gig was piano player at Coke Corner.
Thanks for sharing these great pics.

I have almost 600 new ones from the Disneyland Hotel which I had never, ever seen before. Included in these are very rare 1955 Hotel groundbreaking photos and over 120 from the grand opening in August of 1956. Simply amazing shots!

Love the Mouseketeer photos. Do you have any film of the original Mouseketeers marching in Disneyland when Disneyland opened?

I have film of the Mouseketeers performing at the Disneyland Hotel in 1957 which includes some solo acts by them-Annette dancing, Cubby on the drums and others. This film also includes an interview with Walt Disney at the Disneyland Hotel and I had never seen this interview before.
