    whats IJA?

I can't wait to see this ride finished, set design looks solid. I'm curious how it'll look once we have the lighting/movement and animatronics going. I'm not sure that its a haunted mansion like some people broadcast but it certainly looks MUCH better then Monsters Inc or any of the other stuff we've gotten in recent history.

    IJA: Indy

    Thanks for the video.

I agree, the show room looks larger than I thought they would be.
I'll wait until I see it to give comment.

Looks absolutely amazing. I think with DCA's latest projects (TOT, TSMM, WOC & Mermaid) they are really creating a park that can at least be a good option other than Disneyland. Before it didn't have that wow factor, add Carsland and you've got some staying power.

Wow, HUGE show room! Looks like it's going to be quite impressive, but what I'm most curious about are the Ariel AA's that are "under water" as I remember Al saying way back her hair would be an AA in its own right to make it look like it's flowing like hair does under water. I'm DYING to see how they pull that off.

seems like the ride is 2 stories under or below ground.

It won't be. It's closer in size and scope and overall approach to the classic dark rides you find in Fantastyland. It just uses the same Omnimover ride system as the Haunted Mansion. That being said, when you leave out factors like nostalgia, I think there's a fighting chance this could be very much on par with the existing dark rides. I've been thinking about what it'll be like to actually have a dark ride in that corner of the park, and I really like how it will help legitimize Paradise Pier, I think.

    Cool!

Although some of what is shown in the video look like static figures. :\
I hope the main characters are actual AAs.

I like how the top looks like Mermaid Lagoon at TDS.

I'd hope it was a bit more impressive then that, Fantasyland rides are fun and all but the effects and animations are pretyt limited. Gotten very tired of the Monsters Inc level projects. Here's to Mermaid being at least a bit more impressive then that.

Definitely like the idea of a darkride in this spot though, should be a great balancer to the whole area.

The entrance into the attraction (once finished) looks amazing!

From the outside the building looks so small, but the under the sea scene looks HUGE!

It's hard to see or tell, but I wonder if the bird is going to move back and forth like it's opening the curtain?

Re: The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Undersea Adventure Preview!

From the video it already looks LIGHTYEARS better than any Fantasyland darkride...just my two cents...

It really looks bigger and better than I expected. I love the little drumming lobster. The lady in the video said all they had done were the scenes and props and that the animated figures would be coming in soon. I really love the way they changed the storyline to flow better with starting on land, going below the water, then coming back above the water. Starting with Scuttle on the beach wanting to tell the story of the Little Mermaid then going down and meeting all the characters then progressing up to the lagoon and Kiss the Girl ending with Ariel and Eric waving us off.

Fantastic! I love it and I can't wait to ride it. I'm really happy it didn't turn out like The Seas with Nemo and Friends from Epcot.

Re: The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Undersea Adventure Preview!

Wow! I'm so happy to see Disney up its game in terms of quality! For too many years, we've been stuck with on-the-cheap things like a clone of Buzz, Pooh, watered down Tower of Terror, and the mediocre Monsters Inc. ride. I'm very happy to see California Adventure rise from the ashes and come up with some high-quality stuff!

It truly shows that just because a ride concept shelved at Imagineering for the longest time (This ride has been put on hold since the late80's/early 90's!), doesn't mean that it won't happen. Dreams can come true. This ride will definitely be a true (but fairly short) E-Ticket experience. Rich details, exotic environments, and complex audio-animatronics (Which I can't wait to see the Ariel animatronic) to put you into another world. Just what Disney rides should be about.
