Re: Haunted Mansion with Lights on!

Is'nt New Orleans Square just a little higher than the rest of the park? And from what I've read on the internet, the load area is 10 to 15 feet below grade. Datameister had a 3D render on Youtube showing that the attic scene is actually at ground level, There should be some door that leads outside to your left as soon as you enter the attic. As for the doombuggies losing traction, this may not be accurate but I read on a FAQ site (who knows if they check facts) back in 2003 or 2004, that the doombuggies are a pinchwheel system. Think of a Pitching machine with the two wheels horizontal and close together. There is supposed to be a fin on every fifth or seventh omnimover that is grabbed by the wheels. I forgot the number of wheels and the spacing.

I envy all of the people who were there. The people in the graveyard got to see the popup heads. The people in the attic! Oh man I wish I went!

It varies quite a bit. Up at the level where the HM queue is, it's definitely higher than the park's average ground level, but everything slopes down to ROA. Over by Pirates, it's not much higher than average.

Yeah, ten feet or so. That's the basement level...basically, everything from the corridor of doors through the attic is at ground level, and everything else is in the basement level. That's a bit of a simplification, but it works.

There should be some door that leads outside to your left as soon as you enter the attic.
Not outside, but to another room that's at ground level.

I knew it led somwhere. There was a pic on Extinct Attractions Club's website that showed that attic door open, with the track below and spare parts hanging on the wall.

Very informative thread! While I wouldn't want to have HM breakdown if my gf's kids were with us, I find behind the scenes things intriguing.

And the iPad/ iPhone thing where Youtube videos don't show up on the browser may be due to the portable devices' incompatibility with Flash.
