    My Disneyland trip planning 2011

    Newbie here.

I have planned a 8 days, 7 night trip to Anaheim in March, 2011. I have booked the flight and hotel and haven't booked the sightseeing tours yet. I need some valuable comments from you.

Fact: Family of 4, 2 kids, 10 & 12 (kids are first timers to Disneyland)

Arrival date: Mar 22, around 1pm and the departure date is March 29 morning

Will take a taxis to and from the hotel - Best Western Plus Meridian Inn in Orange

I have 6 net days to spend.

My plan is to buy a 3 days hopper package to Disneyland /Adverture Land from Wed to Fri. The reason is less crowded during weekdays and there will be fireworks in Fridays (right?)

Then book sightseeing tours to Universal Studio + LA night combo tour, Legoland + Sea Life Aquarium tour, and Sea World (San Diego) from Sat to Mon.

Also, may I know the tips/gratuity situation in California, like to the taxis driver, tour guides etc?

    Thanks!!

Welcome to Micechat! Sounds like a fun trip. I don't know if there is tipping etiquette for tour guides. For what its worth, I like to tip about $20 for the family per 1/2 day event. More or less depending on time, effort and individual attention to my family.

    Thanks kjorgensen43.

Someone told me booking the tours through the hotel front desk is cheaper. Is it true?

So far, after comparasion, I think Grayline tours looks more reliable and cheaper.

    Any comments?
