This isn't directed at you Imag1neer, but a general statement. Some people here are architects to whom an 8" difference is glaring. Some people can actually physically see that difference and it bothers them because they are OCD. Just because an particular discussion does not strike your particular fancy does not make it invalid or any less of a real topic to discuss. Just as mathematical and physical aspects of rides interest me while they may not interest everyone. A discussion of the physics behind the floats used in WoC is every bit as valid a discussion despite it not being of interest to everyone. Discussion of horticultural techniques would probably bore 99% of the people here, but it is perfectly valid to discuss it. If a post does not interest you, but is on topic, pass it by.

In regards to Japan, unless someone here is a certified SAR team member and has been dispatched to aid in person in Japan, then there is very little that anyone here can do except donate money and physical goods. Good chance that many of us already have if we are able to. Discussion of things DCA related in no way takes away from my concern for, prayers for, donations to, worry about, watching of news related to the recent tragedy in Japan. If you are so worried that discussing the alignment of building vs. railings is detrimental to the recovery of Japan, why are you here discussing how detrimental it is to the recovery of Japan? See the disconnect? In haranguing others about it, you become what you are haranguing. So let's just cut it. There is not a single person here who is not as concerned and saddened as a human being can be for the suffering and loss of life that is ongoing. I've made a donation to the Red Cross and that will help someone out. But not talking about DCA details will make no difference one way or another, nor will staring at the news feeds all day.

Thats fine, I understand and respect that some people may have OCD or might be architects so it may be of more interest to those people, which is completely ok, I have no issue with that. It's just interesting how these types of discussions only occur when discussing DCA, where are all the OCD people and architect buffs when there are debates about Disneyland park? I just don't see this level of nitpicking directed at Disneyland.

In Disneyland, many rides have maybe 10% of its building exterior visible onstage. The fact that Disney was able to take a building this large and make it look great from within the park really says a lot to their credit.
Precisely! And I'd say all the comments about the building being DisneySEA quality are about 8 inches off the mark. From the position of this photo, the building looks EPCOT Center quality!

I would say this is more because Disneyland is very "set." There hasn't been anything new there in 16 years. Just repaints and reuses of already existing facilities. With DCA we are watching the old being torn down and new being built from the ground up, within an open and operating park which gives access to the whole process on an unprecedented level.

Personally, I love the Little Mermaid building. I think it is gorgeous and an amazing leap forward for DCA. But that doesn't stop me being curious about all the little itty-bitty details about the building. Were they doing some huge, major new construction in DL, I would expect to see the same sort of things in the DL tracker as well. And once ST2 opens, there should be a flurry of these types of posts as well, but as it stands right now, all we know about ST2 is that they are doing something in there.

Though any DL discussion like this is most likely going to be limited. With DCA we see the process, with DL and ST2 we'll see the final result only. Here we get the bits and pieces as they come together and we don't understand the full, final picture like they do yet. So we question decisions and second guess things. With ST2 we'll see the final product and not the bits and pieces that went into it.

Hey all! I'm not in the park, but I have a guy there now. He just sent me these photos about 20 minutes ago. Not much change, but maybe someone will notice something. Enjoy!

Yeah, no bothers from you. Maybe we need some perspective.. the original post on this subject is innocent enough. Let's review...

That lead to a discussion totally 13 posts.. 3 of which were from the original poster.. 13 out of the next 96 posts.

Since then.. 12 posts complaining about 13 posts. Mostly by people who continually complain about other people's choices of conversations. So this small group complaining about what is a honest discussion among members has created just as much noise off-topic, rude noise.. then the conversation they are complaining about.

So maybe people should consider.. are they part of the solution or part of the problem?

If the conversation doesn't interest you - skip it.

When it's a choice between a Whoopi Goldberg show and a slightly misaligned Little Mermaid darkride, this should be a no-brainer folks!

    No one is suggesting otherwise.

Then what are we doing? Let's go to Japan and help the rebuilding effort! Complaining about things on the internet is blasphemy during this time, they should all be ashamed of themselves.

But wait, what does that say about the people who complain about the complainers?
