After looking at google maps, it seems to me that the old Millionaire building and the show building that houses muppets could be combined into what could be a great, large dark ride of some type. Great Movie Ride-esque, perhaps? There also seems to be quite a bit of space between to two buildings to further expand the showbuilding footprint.

Also, that building that used to house hollywood and dine could easily be expanded (there seems to be quite a bit of workable space back there) could be turned into yet another dark ride.

Have we heard any developments since that whole Narnia rumor about potential dark rides / additions to HPB? The facade on the hyperion will be nice, but at the end of the day, that is much more of a place-making endeavor than actually increasing capacity.

    Thoughts anyone?
Ah, phase 2. It will be interesting to follow since some rumors are that it will be a lot less prominent as a big projects we have now, but a mix of smaller ones that happen over time. Lots of possibilities though.

    - Transition the National Park theme into Condor Flats
    - New film for soaring
    - New UP/Phinies and Furb interactive experience??
    - New animatronics and theming finish on Grizzly River Rapids
    - New stores on the Pier
    - Additions for Muppet Vision to tie into the movie??
    - New attraction for Millionaire building? Two level dark ride?
    - New experiences in animation building?
    - New lobby for the theater
    - New ride profiles for Tower of Terror
    - New show at the Hyperion

Remember, Narnia is no longer a Disney franchise, so they would have to go with something else.

And wasn't the rumor about doing a 3D movie, not a dark ride?

No matter, plenty of properties to use anyways.

Thanks. I've heard all these, but I've also been hearing almost all of these for at least 2 years...maybe longer. I assume things have changed dramatically and while some things are more certain, there must be some new blue sky rumors out there since then.

Okay I am going to speak some blasphemy here now for phase 2:

I say use the newly aquired Marvel brands and put an Avengers type experience in the Hollywood Pictures backlot area, maybe the old millionaire building, and it could be changed out each time there is a new Marvel Movie coming to theaters. Why own the brand if you are not going to use it and make some money for the company, plus it makes as much sense as having millionaire or soap opera bistro, or muppets.

If it was done right I think it could work, but I am not calling for a thrill ride or even dark ride as that might not fit well. Heck over in disneyland they have star wars, and indiana jones, and I know that at the time they were being built no one thought they would work in a disney park either, but they are\were considered two of the better disney attractions once they were completed.

Indy fits in Adventureland as does ST(II) in Tomorrowland both in timeline and theme but will a Marvel themed anything fit in 1930s Hollywoodland?

Absolutely. As long as the character fits the theme. You can't classify Marvel as one thing, that doesn't belong. It's THOUSANDS of things, each unique. Much like Disney.

sw33t sw33t speculation and armchair imagineering on the tracker thread!

Now I miss the whining about the Mermaid building T_T

I'm actually curious as to the laying of the cement down infront of the building and how much of that is taking place. I can't wait to see the walls come down but I'm guessing they still have a ways to go with landscaping?

There was an Ariel statue that went in the old DL fountain area with Triton right? Think maybe it'll appear in some of the switchbacks?

I can't wait to see the walls drop around the Pizza/Pasta area too. I wonder if they'll lay down cement at some point and move the walls around to allow for better traffic flow in the Pier after a while.

I can't imagine them keeping the walls out so far until June 3rd

    Same here.

Now that you mentioned it, I wonder what happened to that Ariel Statue that was there before that area became Pixie Hollow. Maybe it'll pop again in the queue as you said. It's possible.

The walls will be pushed back to the original places before they closed it off on the 25th(i think). I think this is also for the Maliboomer park too(partially). They have to have access to the other side of the pier and they already re-poured the concrete for the parade route.

People said they wanted it, but Disney never planned to do it.
