I'm also quite sure that the Rocket Rods do not use the same technology as Test Track, Journey, and Radiators.

Yes there is a track under the track. There are 2 tubes similar to the tubes that the CS vehicles run on under the sections that the RSR vehicle tires run on. There is a bogie assembly that has wheels that go under the tubes(upstop wheels) and on the side of the tubes(side guide wheels). This bogie assembly is attached to the bottom of the vehicle chassis and is what keeps the vehicle firmly attached to the track. There is also a brush block type assembly that also hangs down into the slot, this is in contact with the bus bar that runs along the track and provied electricity to all the vehicles.

I think insider67 is definitely right on this one. They all use the same basic base structure with the hidden tubular tracks that the cars run along underneath the visible track along with the busbar system to power the cars. The main difference is that the EMVs run along fairly level track surfaces and with the added motion that the vehicles have, the forces exerted on the ride structure is greater, which limits the speed at which they can travel (to put it simply). The rides such as RSR and TT don't have the added motion as well as having banked turns, so the speed at which they can travel is far greater. the main difference that people saw with RR was that they busbars appeared to not be hidden beneath the track as with the other rides, lending it a far different look than any of the other systems.

They're still in testing/adjusting phase as far as lighting. They've been using a spotlight on the Triton statue but it seems to be misaligned in the most recent pictures.

It's gorgeous! Personally, I like that they're not trying to do colorful LED schemes and patterns. It looks raw and authentic.
