I don't know that they'd actually do it, but I think it'd be great if rather than just stores, there was a space for an intimate and charming attraction somewhere on BVS. Something in the vein of Mr. Lincoln.

Hmm. That got me thinking. What if they did something like the Lincoln show at BVS but it would be the Walt Disney Story attraction at the Carthay Circle Theater with a Walt Disney animatronic?

Steve Davison did say he wanted to use songs from TANGLED in World of Color when he first heard them. Could one of those be "I See The Light" with the lanterns? I would rather they take out the Pirates part instead of Aladdin. Then the show would be a wall to wall celebration of Disney/Pixar animation.

That would be funny if they took out the whole Aladdin part in World of Color though. Because then the Genie in the Aladdin Musical could make jokes about it.

The pirates scene blends in with the show better though, Aladdin just kind of starts and stops, it doesnt transition very good. If they add Tangled, I hope they transition it better than they did with Aladdin, plus the Aladdin animation looks very very blurry on the mist screens for some reason.

I have a transcript of an interview with ex-Imagineer Eddie Sotto where he talked about the idea of an AA Walt. It was eventually rejected. It sounded pretty cool and honoring of the man and not at all creepy.

I'm pretty sure the family would stop ANY AA of Walt from going into the parks. It took a lot of work just getting a statue in the park, imagine an AA?

Personally I think the Aladdin segment is the weakest point of the show. I would not mind seeing it gone.

That was the plan for some time minus the AA Walt. From what i've heard, an attraction about Walt is still in the works.

Agreed. Aside from the star effect on Mickey's Fun Wheel, the entire segment doesn't really do anything for me. If it were up to me and "Aladdin" "had" to be used somewhere in the show, I would have done something surrounding the Cave of Wonders. It would have been a good segue into Genie's routine.

They can do black and white old time characters (see Mickey Mouse as Steamboat Willie in Fantasmic!). The time period of BVS, Hollywood Land and the Pier area are all for that look in the characters.
I would LOVE to see more of the retro characters in DCA - I think that would give the park a unique appeal. With the Epic Mickey game bringing these characters back into the spotlight it would be a unique opportunity to incorporate them into the parks and celebrate Disney's past in a fun way!

That's a great idea! I wonder if the Imagineers have thought of that? Oh wait...they did...and then they axed it. :-(

from the top of the thread:

    Carthay Circle Theatre
Details: The Carthay Circle Theatre will be built, but without the Walt Disney Story attraction. With the Walt Disney Story attraction canceled, current plans for the theatre include a private club, similar to Disneyland's Club 33, and an expanded Resort Preview Center.
Project Status: As of January 2011, the removal of the Sunshine Fountain plaza is completed and work to clear the area is underway. Vertical construction on the theatre will begin in 2011
    Open Date: By spring/summer 2012.
I see Buena Vista Street as an entryway into the world of California Adventure and a bookend for a guest's visit to the park. Its much like the Port of Entry at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure or the Oasis pathways leading up to Discovery Island and the Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom. I feel like a sit-down attraction in those areas of the parks might get overlooked because guests want to keep going to really get "into the park" (to the rides). But I am still disappointed - I really wanted to see The Walt Disney Story - that seemed cool.

I'm in DCA and I just saw the GRR bear and his vest is orange. I've been trying to follow all its color changes and last I remember someone said it was yellow. Jeeze. How many times are they going to paint it?

Sometimes you don't know how it will look till it's done. Then they might see how the color works at different times of day and different lighting.

Now that, I would love. AAs are my favorite things to see when going to Disneyland. Seeing an AA of one of my heros would make my visits to DL even more special.

I loved all the different versions of the ride! Goes to show how much thought goes into a ride!
