That was the plan for some time minus the AA Walt. From what i've heard, an attraction about Walt is still in the works.
I would love to see a feature film about Walt Disney. Not a documentary, but an inspiring "Rudy" type movie about his life, and the way he persevered and fulfilled his dreams.

Sorry to get off topic, folks.

That's what shows in the 'The Walt Disney Story' at Disney Studios in Florida.

Technically yes and no. The space is used for additional Trattoria seating but it does not exist as a separate restaurant any longer.

The space is used for extra seating for the World of Color meals in the Wine Country Trattoria. The chef for the Vineyard Room left to be the sous chef of the Napa Rose, which is a shame, because she was really good. She deserves to be executive chef somewhere.

I don't mean to get off topic, but just this last Thursday CNBC premiered a documentary called "Walt: The Man Behind the Myth" and it was extremely interesting. It was made by the Walt Disney Family Foundation so it is extremely accurate.

Sorry to get off topic, but I thought some would be interested.

That film was also shown at DCA's Animation building for a few years. It closed in 2005 when Turtle Talk replaced it..

I don't mind a private club in DCA, just not in the Cathary Theater and not in the front of the park. Club 33 works at Disneyland because it is inside the park. Having it in the new "icon" of the park would be like having Club 33 inside sleeping beauty castle.

I don't think there's any plans to convert the Carthay Theatre into the new park icon for DCA but that is an interesting thought to consider. They'll probably stick with the bear though.

I feel like a sit-down attraction in those areas of the parks might get overlooked because guests want to keep going to really get "into the park" (to the rides). But I am still disappointed - I really wanted to see The Walt Disney Story - that seemed cool.
I think you hit the issue of doing a presentation a-la Mr. Lincoln or Golden Dreams, people are going to be wanting to run off to something more exciting. But a nice multi-video screen presentation as part of an exhibit would be easy to do and relatively low cost. What impresses me at the Walt Disney Family Museum here in San Francisco was the use of video and how engaging it could be when done right. They even have a video 'mural' and the end of the museum that features a montage of video that would be quite effective.

Disney has actually confirmed that the Carthay will be the new icon of DCA!

I think it's cool because at the Magic Music Days building, backstage at Disneyland, (My orchestra performed last week) there are these two giant maps of the resort that are so up to date/ahead of time that they show BVS and Carsland, along with the Astro Orbitor in it's current colors. They even have these two icons/medallions for each park. The Disneyland one has the silhouette Sleeping Beauty Castle and the silhouette of the Matterhorn behind it, the DCA one has the silhouette of the Carthay Circle Theater with the silhouette of Grizzly Peak behind it.
