I wonder if Disney could hire people to clean it every now and then......But that might interfere with the stuff in the water for WOC.....That's depressing

Warmer days equals warmer water. Wonder if this has anything to do with it? The bay is not that deep and it doesn't take much time for that water to warm up.

Yeah, you can see them here as well -- I think they're supposed to represent Ariel's sisters (Aquata, Andrina, Arista, Attina, Adella and Alana)

It looks like the first mermaid on the top left in this picture ^

^ Yeah it's one of Ariel's sisters. On the elevation concept art you can see that the arch will have the sister's near the top of the arch as part of it. Here's the art for reference

Makes sense. The infrastructure is in place and with another strong summer of WoC, they'll need some other nighttime activities to keep people busy. I wouldn't mind something with a little more "life" to it though.

Makes sense promotionally as well. Have the DVD release coming up as well as a TV show.

There is power in these brands and they want to utilize (or exploit) them to their full potential.
Yet, somehow people remember the name of New Orleans Square (why not just call it Mardis Gras Land?), Pirates of the Caribbean (why not just call it the Pirates Boat Ride?), It's A Small World (Doll Boat Ride?), etc, etc.

Seriously, for a site that has so many sticklers for detail and theming........"Carsland" seems like a big drag. I guess that being a Disney apologist really IS more important to many on here than remaining true to excellent Disney theming, etc, etc.

Because your suggestions (Doll Boat Ride) are straight to the literal point, not the thematic point. It's the thematic point that is important. Cars is the film that the land is based on. Call it Cars Land. It contains a place called Radiator Springs, much as the entire film world of Cars is not Radiator Springs, but encompasses much more than just Radiator Springs.

The name isn't a literal thing, it's a thematic thing. Pirates of the Caribbean is the theme, the story. It's not about it being a boat ride. With Cars Land, the line between literal and thematic elements is blurred.
