I'm one of those. Don't get me wrong, the DHS version is quite awesome! But, as a park guest, there's something about the DCA version's drop sequence that makes it feel superior to Florida's. They have it timed exactly right.

The great thing about being a professional CM is that I get to hear rumors before the public does. And on this one, I can tell you, other than "we should" and "maybe someday" type of talking, there have not been and are no plans whatsoever to add randonized drops to DCA's ToT. Of course, that could always change in the future, but there are no plans currently.

The CM told me that starting from the 2nd floor doesn't have a bigger drop but I call bull. You start at the same hight and after the drop you don't go down any more before pulling into the station. Can anyone confirm?

In another unrelated note, I rode the attraction 9 times on my last visit and only got the bottom floor once. What are the chances of that..

I'm going to say that the 2nd floor has a shorter final drop. The rest of the sequence will use the same amount of the shaft as the 1st floor will. While one elevator is in the shaft, the other is in the load/unload position. But since the 2nd floor start doesn't drop to the bottom of the shaft and then rise back up before moving into load/unload, the final drop is indeed shorter than 1st floor.

^My exact thoughts. I guess the quick assent to the first show level would also be a little longer.

Anyone care to elaborate on what that is rumoured to be?

I think that if DCA's TOT will get a random drop sequence, it'll come when the retheme to Hollywoodland comes to fruition. Makes the most sense to make it part of that big re-opening.

Wish it'd come in a package. I do like DCA's drop profile but as far as show goes its only moderate. I wouldn't mind a second projection event in the drop tunnels or some other random creepy effect.

I'd LOVE to see a lightning effect similar to what Tokyo has or heck, you ever notice WDW they can zoom in on your photo if you don't want a group shot of the entire elevator but in DLR they can't?

^They can do that? Wow. I'm sure with a high-resolution camera that would be more than possible. I wonder why they didn't impliment that here.

^^I think that the readers on the board can, for the most part make up their minds for themselves. If someone subscribes and believes a poster/ex-poster, they will undoubtedly continue to. Those who didn't will not. From there, it becomes evident that what is past should be left to be. There is no need to make posts against the forum rules now because nothing is stopping us from hearing what we want to hear wherever it may be.

This information is invaluable! Do you know of any examples of what that looks like?

Re: Will Tower of Terror @ DCA ever be Randomized?

how is it that the tower itself is 20 stories but the drop is 13 stories.
and that wdw has 8 different vehicles but only 2 elevators.
personally the drop should be 30 secs longer than it is. only cus the ride is too short.
