Re: Have you ever gotten stuck on an attraction? I haven't.

I've been stuck on plenty of rides. Usually for Indy. Most memorable was one time on Indy where we got stuck about halfway through the ride. It started up again and went a bit further, but eventually the lights came on. After sometime, CMs came and let us off and we walked from Jeep to Jeep through the rest of the ride, helping other riders get off. It was pretty cool to see the place with the lights on.

I've also broken down twice on Space Mountain, but both times were not IN the actual ride. Instead of turning right to enter the ride, we turned to the left and were required to evacuate our car. Once the entire ride was broken when this happened, the other time just the car we were in failed.

Oh yeah, forgot, got stuck on Screamin' as well.

YouTube - California Screamin - Ride Evac

We made it 6 feet out of the station and the ride 101ed. They evac that ride in order of comfort/safety for guests. Those stuck on hills, or out in the sun get off first. Those on flats and in shade last. So we were last. Took about 20 minutes. They had let everyone else off the train but the first 2 rows (us and row behind) as we were already past the station but everyone else could still get out. They had to manually release all the brakes and push the train back up into the station to let us out. We had a lot of fun talking to the cast members who were funny and full of information. And the maintenance/security guys pushing the train were fun too.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

I seem to be in line right about to board a ride then the ride shuts down for a hour or so.... good times.

Re: Have you ever gotten stuck on an attraction? I haven't.

I've been stuck on several attractions. All happening at DL. Never got stuck on a ride at DCA.

The first time was the Autopia for some unkown reason. Was stuck there for I think 20 minutes before being evaced.

Next, I got stuck on Indy for the 1st time 2 days after the 50th began (may 2005) in the rat room. They fixed it without an evac needed. The next 2 happened after the ride was over and the next one happened in the dart run. Then on Christmas 2007, I got stuck in the boulder room and had my first evac from the ride. Then 2 years later, it broke down while I was on the bridge and it was bad timing on my part since the park was closed. It took 30 minutes before they finally decided to evac us. My dad got mad since it took so long. Then recently (2 weeks ago) happened at closing again at this spot:

    By theforbiddeneye at 2011-02-16

    By TheForbiddenEye at 2011-02-16

They fixed it within 15 minutes and the lights was on until after I passed the snake. They offered a reride after we finished the ride. Even though I would've stayed, it was closing and I knew my parents would be waiting for me, so I had to leave right away (I even asked the CM that passed by the jeep during the breakdown how long it would take so I wouldn''t keep my parents waiting too long.). If it was a weekday that they closed at 8, I would've since my mom gets off at work at 10.

So that tallies into 7 times I got stuck on Indy with 2 evacs.

Then there was the time I got stuck on Roger Rabbit. That was an evac right there. Then there was the time I got stuck on It's a Small World 5 years ago (total nightmare right there).

I have never been stuck or evac'd from any ride or attraction at any theme park. I've also never had jury duty or broken a bone.

Small World for twenty minutes in Sept 2009.

We weren't evaced and easily could have been. We were the next boat to be unloaded when it failed. We were at the dock behind an empty boat waiting and watching the clock out front. While we missed the pain of watching the clicking dolls dance, we still had to listen to the song. The thing that made it more frustrating was that they could have gotten us off. There was a two foot pathway of the dock between us (in the boat) and the railing (for the exit ramp) that we could have used, but the CMs said it was not safe to exit right there. We had to wait until it was up and running, and then we could exit it properly. My impatient sister did not wait and jumped out after 15 minutes, then stood on the ramp taunting us.

Final note, we avoid this ride like the plague for all the same reasons others would state, but had gone on it because we were with a friend of my sister's who had never been to DL in her life. What an experience.

Never at DL but at Epcot once.

I don't remember the name of the ride but it is the one with all the dino's. We had spent a better part of two hours convincing our friends daughter that the ride would be fun. Finally she decided to go on the ride.

This was the day after the big huricane about 6 years ago. That's a whole story on its own.

We were about halfway thru the ride and all the power cut out. Everything went dead. not even the emergency lights were working for some reason. We sat there for probably 10 minutes in the dark then power came back on. Of course we were right next to one and the dino's that moves out into the tracks... it screamed.. our whole car screamed... and the power went out again.

Another 10-15 minutes where the ride would power up for a few seconds... the car would lurch forward, then everything would go out.

Never got escorted out of the ride but after about 45 minutes the emergency lights finally started working.

Needless to say our friends daughter never wanted to go near that ride again.

Re: Have you ever gotten stuck on an attraction? I haven't.

While riding one of the pack mules, the mules decided to rest and half of them sat down. The CM began working on getting them to stand back up and nearly had them all up when mine decided to sit down along with a few others behind me. I was told to remain on the mule as some of the guests started to dismount their animals. Once all the mules were standing again and the guests were on their mules, we completed the trek.

The mine train stopped near the entrance to rainbow caverns and we waited there awhile before going into the caverns. A mountain lion would appear above us and then go back in his cave. It was fun anticipating it's return.

The atomobiles stopped in the nucleus room of Adventure thru Innerspace and our eyes adjusted and we could see the big pole holding the blinking red ball.

One Autopia car that I was assigned to would frequently stall. A CM would restart the engine and it would stall and stall again. I finally reached the station to disembark and was reseated in a different vehicle and was able to enjoy the attraction.

The skyway stopped as we neared the Matterhorn and we sat there for a very long time however, we enjoyed the view as we could see the bobsleds running around. There was a breakdown spiel that told us we had temporarily stopped coming from speakers mounted on the poles.

While on the peoplemover, the attraction stopped above the very crowded Star Tours line. We sat for about ten minutes, overlooking the crowd.

While on Thunder Mountain, we stopped right in front of the little town. There were trains going backwards behind the town so trains were being taken offline. I began to look at the details of Rainbow Ridge and laughed when I saw a cat looking back at me from behind one of the windows. We saw a CM open a small panel door near one of the buildings and there were switches and buttons that he began to use. Fascinating.

Space Mountain in Zone 12. Break down spiel began just as we left the top of the lift hill. The CM's came and manually released the brakes and pushed us on our way down. Thats all I've gotten stuck on.

I've been stuck on Space Mountain, Monsters Inc., Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, BLAB, Small World, and Tarzan's Treehouse.

Space Mounatin we sat there with the lights on until two CM's pushed us and we went about 5 mph the rest of the way. Then they let us ride again.

Like Space Mounatin, Pirates was because of a person unloading from a wheelchair. We stayed at the bottom of the lift hill for about 45 minutes.

BLAB and Haunted Mansion we were stuck for 10 minutes. BLAB was okay because everyone just used the extra time to raise their scores, but HM was torture. I was in the room with Madame Leota and I memorized her speech. Every minute we heard their safety spiel, which I also had memorized. We were also stuck on HM for five minutes before that so I heard the safety spiel almost 20 times.

Monster's Inc. was wierd because my car was just five feet from the final left turn before you listen to Roz when we stalled for 5 minutes. Then a CM walked by and told us to get out.

I've also been at the park when there was a massive power outage and the only rides working in the whole resort were Indy, Jungle Cruise, Innoventions, and something else.(I forgot what)

Tarzan's Treehouse was because I was really little and deathly afraid of heights so I clung to the net on the wobbly bridge.

Re: Have you ever gotten stuck on an attraction? I haven't.

I can remember four times. Unfortunately I didn't take any photos out of respect. (Plus I thought I was going to get in trouble XP).

First was on Space Mountain. We were there for a while then they ended up turning on the lights, so we all to everybody else in the other cars. The CM came to push us to the end of the ride, and we found out the ride stopped due to a false alarm so they let all of us ride again.

Second was on Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin. We only got to the first scene and we got stuck. We were there for quite a while w/o any news, but luckily I brought schoolwork with me for long lines so ended up doing some of that before we got escorted out. P.S. I ended up getting an A on that assignment!

Third was on Splash Mountain. My log turns the corner before the first drop and bumps into three logs ahead of me. Some minutes had passed and a CM came to get us all and led us out through the mountain, which looked like the inside of the Caldecott tunnel in Northern California. Afterwards, they gave us a fastpass good for up to 6 people for any ride in the park. I used it for Peter Pan's Flight.

Fourth was Snow White's Scary Adventures. It was at the end of the diamond mine and the car suddenly stopped. When we got escorted out I joked with some of the other guests that someone got out to take the poison apple. XD We walked through the rest of the ride with the lights on, so I got to feel like Snow White literally walking through the forest scene. Also, I found out the vultures (before the Queen's throne room) look WAY more scarier with the lights on than off.

I've been stuck on Pirates, Big Thunder, the old Limo ride (was actually more interesting to walk out through it than ride it!) Monorail, Tarzan's Treehouse (don't ask....)

Hidden Mickey - Historical fiction about Walt that mixes action and mystery with time travel and fantasy! Tweens to adults will enjoy these novels. And now, three gamebooks to play in Disneyland, DCA and WDW Magic Kingdom!
