This is one ride I wish I had been able to see in person.

What a cool idea for a thread. A lights-on look at this closed, long-ago attraction and it's train ride is a rare treat. It's almost surreal when one's memories are evoked from what seems like another lifetime. The Rainbow Caverns were fun to travel through.

I agree. I went on this ride many times when it was open. It was always amazing and the music they played in there matched the sights as well. You just can't imagine how wonderful this ride was with all the black light dye in the pools and waterfalls that never mixed even thought it looked like they were right next to each other. It was a fun experience.

I would love to see a version of this come back! Something the entire family can do together, rather than have the grandparents sit with the small ones on a bench while everyone else rides Big Thunder.

No, that area was part of the Mine Train, but this was indoors and none of this exists anymore. It was near the end of the ride, space currently used I believe for Big Thunder and the Thunder train storage area next to Rancho Zocalo.
