Question Will The Little Mermaid be operational during World of Color?

I'm not sure if this question has been asked or answered already, but here goes nothing.

The rides around Paradise Pier are closed during World of Color, and seeing as The Little Mermaid is right in front of the night time show, will it be also be closed?

Actually it's behind the show (if you're in Paradise Park). I'm sure the ride will be very popular in its premiere year, I doubt they will shut down the ride every night if demand is high.

Midway Mania stays open during the show, i'm pretty sure TLM will too.

i would think because it behind the audience but i pretty sure all the facade lights will be off during the show

    It's a music Celebration
Come on, come on, come on
    Strike up the band,
Feel the beat, what a great sensation
Come on, come on, come on
    Move and clap your hands,
    Get into the Spirit
    Let everyone hear it,
    So come on, come on

Forgot about TSMM being open during WoC. I'm assuming the show buildings lights will just be turned off during the shows.

It's gonna be open. The ride system itself is very quiet.

Re: Will The Little Mermaid be operational during World of Color?

The rides that close are outdoors and all throw off quite a bit of light and noise that would be very distracting during the show. TLM is an indoor ride like TSMM so I don't think it will cause many problems to run during the show. The outdoor lights on it I'm sure will be dimmed or shut off during the show but being brand new and much talked about I'm sure they'll try to keep it running as many hours as at all possible since demand will surely be high.

I was thinking about this too, OP, and realized that it's probably one reason they decided to completely enclose the loading area.

From what i'm guessing, as long as the line for TLM can be managed without them being a problem for WoC guest control, then it can stay open.

Don't forget that Goofy's Sky School can stay open during the show as did when it was Muholland Madness. So that should leave 3 attractions staying open during World of Color.

Re: Will The Little Mermaid be operational during World of Color?

Mulholland Madness was open during WOC? I don't remember that at all! I would've figured that'd be the biggest noise maker since it's right there. Were the lights just turned off?

And I didn't know all of TLM's queue was gonna be inside! Which brings me to my question: WILL IT HAVE A/C? God knows, even during that very SMALL portion in line for TSMM, I start to get hot and it feels so musty. I absolutely dread going in there. Me thinks I'll bring one of those battery operated spray fans on opening day, just in case.

Re: Will The Little Mermaid be operational during World of Color?

See that's what I was thinking. The inside queue area doesn't seem to be big enough to hold the large crowds in it's opening months/year. I'm thinking the queue will go be going outdoors, but doesn't that create a problem for the WOC crowds?

Re: Will The Little Mermaid be operational during World of Color?

It depends on how they use the available space. If they push the LM overflow queue back over into the area by goofys sky school and keep the WoC crowds pushed toward the pier and keep them on the bridge side as long as possible and have breaks to allow people through it should not be too hard. I can picture it working in my head but don't think I can describe it clearly.

Maybe the queue can be over flowed next to the San Francisco area, that seems to make sense too.

^but they have people waiting for WOC near the San Fran buildings so that might confuse people....
We'll have to see but I would think after the first days it will get crowded but most people will be wanting to see Fantasmic, WOC or the fireworks instead of going on Mermaid when they had all day to do that...but we'll have to wait and see really

    .
MM wasn't a big noise maker during World of Color. The ride is practically tucked in the corner of PP and well behind the viewing area. I would assume the lights were dimmed to continue ride operation.
