You've been selected to come up with a new "Mountain"!

    Again, just for fun...

Disney management has been reading MiceChat and has picked you to design and oversee the construction of their latest "Mountain"! They are giving you a huge budget, but are also expecting a new classic to go along with their other "Mountains".

To give you the green light, management:

    1. Needs to know exactly where you are putting this new attraction (it has to be in Disneyland, not DCA). There has to be room for everything including the queue and it cannot create a bottleneck in foot traffic.
    2. Would prefer a tie-in to one of their movies, but an original story would be acceptable if it is strong enough.
    3. Needs to know how the queue will be themed to keep people occupied and get them ready for the ride.
    4. A summary of the ride itself!

    Any takers?

I suggest they take Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and install a bunch of animatronic Indians who shoot real arrows at the riders, thereby reducing the crowds that clog up that part of the park, while at the same time, giving the ride a much more "authentic" Old West experience.

    Pocahontas River Expedition:

Replace the Festival Arena with this all new canoe mountain water ride. Themed to the much loved Pocahontas. Queue would be themed to the Indian Village that Pocahontas is from (fake trees, distant and close up teepees, the entry to the queue is a fort entrance like the one into frontierland from the hub), and would be located at the edge of Big Thunder Trail.

On the ride guests will see heartwarming moments from the film (colors of the wind, just around the riverbend, savages). The canoe imediately starts a sharp incline to meet Pocahontas seeing the "strange clouds, and as a projection of her jumps of ledge, you go down to the village. In the village you see her and her father, then your speed increases as she starts singing just around the river bend. Throughout Colors of the Wind, you are moving up, down, left, and right in a room projected with thousands of colored leaves, wind, nature, occasionally passing AAs of John and Pocahontas. As we reach the final scene (Savages) you start out low, then begin an incline as the intensity builds in the song, when you reach the top, john is shot, you plummet down a final drop to the final scene of Pocahontas waving goodbye to you, you disembark from your canoe, head out through the exit (themed to Colors of the Wind), enter a gift store (make the bean-counters happy), then you end up between Fantasyland and frontierland.
    Trips coming up:

    May 22-26th
    July 13th-18th
    November 19th-25th

    Villain Mountain

Location: Northeast Disneyland, south of IASW. (Monorail, Autopia, and Peoplemover track would need to be tidied up and moved a bit)

Storyline: Guest journey into and through a decrepit temple that was once Maleficent's lair. You pass fallen statues of Disney Villains that have been vanquished. You learn that Chernabog (the devil himself) restored them and they kidnapped all the children of the Disney Princesses. One of the princesses (at random in pre-show) asks the guests to help them. Guests then make their way to a moat where they board a boat (similar to the one the Evil Queen did in Snow White). As guests float through an eerie watery channel, Maleficent shows up along with the other villains and threatens to destroy them. Suddenly, the boat LAUNCHES through a dark tunnel and then roars through a thrilling roller coaster track section as the villains pop around in the darkness (Revenge of the Mummy style) before plummeting back into another water channel.

The guests finally reach the children, who are held hostage on an island in a giant cove (ala POTC), where Maleficent, now a dragon, along with Ursula, Mother Gothel, Lady Tremain, and the Evil Queen reveal themselves (this can all be done via water screens). You Launch again as Mickey in a surprise cameo shows up and vanquishes them, where quests then plummet down a waterfall and safely make it outside the villains lair. Guest then exit into a villains giftshop that features villain and Disney Princess children merchandise.

Estimated Cost: $100 to $250 million.

Estimated Awesomeness: High. Very very High.
