    Re: New California Screamin Soundtrack

Whatever the new music ends up being, it should be composed for the attraction like the current track was to fit the elements of the track. No existing set of music will do that perfectly. It would also be nice to have the current track adjusted to match the new adjusted speeds of the trains as the newer breaks before the loop throw off the track making it jump to catch up at the sensor before the bunny hops.

Is that why that always happens before the bunny hops now? I never knew that. Anyways, I like the style of the video posted. I think if they were to compose, or arrange something similar to that would be perfect. Something that matches the speed, and the twists and turns of the ride.

Judas Priest. Electric Eye. It doesn't fit in with the theme, so shoot me. I would love to hear that for just a month at least on there!

When I last went (December) Gosh.. that long already?! :o Going in one week!

Anyways, back onto subject... they were testing a new audio track. I'm sorry I couldn't get a recording of it, but it was a one time thing. It was more gentle (and not the old track).

They were testing it with guests on board? Or was this before or after park hours?

Not victorian theme, but I feel the song fits better than the current song they've got on there.

    Song: Gary Hoey's Wipeout.

Take a look at the Gary Hoey version of wipeout. Closest I feel we'll ever get with a pre-existing set of music.

I like the style ideas that have been posted. I really think something along these lines could be composed specifically for the ride. I can imagine some cool "big band" chromatic descending and ascending runs to match the ups and downs of the ride.

It was with guests (green train) and it was around 2 pm.

Its good, but they can do better with something tailored.

I'm crazy about the current music, but even so, I agree that it doesn't fit in at all with the new theme.

Simple solution: replace the electric guitar with a big-band horn section.

    YES!
    Yes, please!

Well yea, I agree. And my edited version was pretty choppy, I'll admit. But IF they did a pre-existing version, the song itself would be a good choice, just tweaked with the period appropriate sound/instruments.

Any more, I throw on my ipod with a playlist of edited songs I like on the ride. I'd love to hear a new song on there that's better than what they have now.

I wasn't worried about the choppiness.

Keep the current version of the soundtrack. I like it and it belongs there.

Sorry for beating you to the punch, kablary, but I thought this was too good to not post here. I think this would be ideal for the new theme direction of the pier.

I like this a lot! I think this sort of fast-paced 1920s jazz is exactly what the coaster needs - it fits well with the pace of the ride, but is also period-appropriate. If a new soundtrack could be written to match the specific experience of the coaster but in this same style, it would be even better. I'm honestly surprised the current soundtrack is getting so much support, considering it doesn't really fit at all.
