I'm going to miss that really pretty drawing of Belle/The Beast and Tarzan/Jane. :/

Re: animation building walls taken down

I will have to see it for myself. The building ALWAYS looked good at night. The problem was during the day. The outside of the building was not fitting animation. It was gray and drab. I hope that it looks "magical" to fit the contents. The exterior also has to fit in with everything else on that street. I know that they call it a "backlot" but some buildings are not facades as the name implies. I think that they need to go for a fully working street and drop the "backlot" theme completely. That will really solve the Animation Building problem.

I'm a sucker for glitzy lights and neon, but I will miss those murals on the walls. They were nice, and from what I understand, they're now gone. What shame - I see no reason why they couldn't have stayed. :-\

Bleh, I didn't know the murals had existed...I think it was better before (the new marquee etc. is very nice, but doesn't counter the loss of murals). It looks more like an attraction now, though; the old one, people might have walked by not quite understanding they were meant to go in.

Are the murals still on the walls in the exit?

WOW! It really looks good. I always thought .. that whatever DCA morphs into over the next decade or two .. that the Animation pavilion would stay (as it is a good attraction) .... and only be improved to go with whatever surrounds it in the ensuing years.

    Very,very nice - indeed!

I wonder if this was originally supposed to be installed before DCA opened, and they cut it back, or if this was something new that was added.

It actually looks like something was missing before. See the extra metal in Master Gracey's picture, around the brim of the "porch".

It's too bad the shows in there aren't really all that interesting.

Disney should change the content of the pavillion since the animation department has been effectively dismantled.
