Question Getting to Disney Soda Fountain

Is there any shuttles that go to the Soda Fountain from DLR? We would love to go there while we are on our trip. We would rather not rent a car, because that means bringing car seats along. Prefer not to do mass transit, too many "get on, get off". I would like a simple 2-3 hours in Hollywood to check out the Soda Fountain and other things in the area. Is that even possible without the options I prefer not to use?

You can take the bus and transfer to the train.

As someone who lives in LA, I can tell you that I wouldn't recommend bussing it. I've done it from LAX to Hollywood and it was 3 transfers and 4 hours. From DLR it would be an additional 3 hours. If you don't want to rent a car, your best bet would be a taxi, although it would be very expensive (it cost about $60 from LAX which is about halfway between).

    It's a soda fountain/ice cream/burger place in LA. It's half mini-resturant, half Disney store.

The best thing would be to take the bus (OCTA or I think ART) to the Anaheim Train Station. Take the Metrolink or Amtrak Surfliner to Union Station, and then tame the Red Line (which is the subway) to Hollywood and Highland. There are transfers involved but I don't think it would be too inconvenient as you don't really have far to walk from any of your transfers.

Honestly your best bet would be to drive there. That way you don't waste your time waiting for buses and trains and the like. You can park at the Hollywood and Highland Center which has a huge structure and the parking is super cheap in my opinion.
I know some people also drive partway to a train station, park and then take the train into town.

It's in Hollywood, next to the El Capitan Theatre and across the street from the Hollywood & Highland complex:

That is seriously a good question. Like a malt shop/burger place similar to the old diner at the Disneyland Hotel. That place would be a hit!

The food isn't that good, but the shakes and ice cream are.

But it's not that bad from Disneyland. It is one bus and one transfer.

Take the 460 From Disneyland to 7th Street in downtown. Transfer to the red line, take it to Hollywood and Highland, which is across the street from the soda fountain.

Or, as mentioned, take the Amtrak to Union Station and transfer to the red line. It'll save around 30 minutes, but it's more expensive.

The bus ride isn't quick, it is around 75 minutes and the train ride proceeding it is about 20 minutes. So expect to spend about 2 hours round trip.

Re: Getting to Disney Soda Fountain

Thank you all for your great input. I didn't realize the time it would take to get there. So, I am going to have to decide whether it is worth it to take away from our time at the park. If we do go, I think we will probably do the rail route. I am not a big fan of public buses. If we don't go, I might ask on the pin board if there is anyone who might be willing to pick me up a couple pins. That is really the main reason I want to go. Thanx again!!

Re: Getting to Disney Soda Fountain

I wouldn't suggest leaving the park to go to the Soda Fountain place unless you have lots of time. It's about a 3-4 hour trip if you have your own car. They do have some good pins though. The only issue with that is if they are LE 300 they sell out fast.

When i say 3-4 hour trip I mean driving there eating and driving back.
