I pronounce Monsters Inc. D.O.A.
Stupid budget cuts ruined everything!Originally Posted by pancakesaregood
Here's another idea for a Tomorrowland attraction (although I don't have a story behind it yet): http://www.scaled.com
I saw these people in 60 Minutes, they've actually come up with their own private aircraft that has reached the limits of our atmosphere, and technically reached space. Because of the design of the wings, and their ability to move and adjust for re-entry, there is no heat to worry about, the aircraft glides back into our atmosphere.
I sincerely hope so, too.Originally Posted by Escapé

Yep. Tomorrowland was better the way it was. The "new" Tomorrowland was just ugly paint, subpar new attractions, and crappy props. The money that got cut probably went to ODVs or building a new shop.Originally Posted by Kevie
Yes, they won the X Prize. It was huge; all over the news and a historic first. You must have been pretty busy to have missed it! Right after they won the prize, Virgin-Atlantic joined with them to start a new company, Virgin-Galactic (I kid you not), that is already taking reservations for tourist flights to space as soon as their ships are built.Originally Posted by cindersgirl
Regarding those imaginative concept paintings of TL98... where on earth did they think they were going to get all that space for the entrance? That would stretch half-way across the hub!
I can see being displeased with the new tommorland, but saying it was better before??? Let me think about it...Originally Posted by Evan
Rocket Rods was a fun attraction that drew large crowds +1. Broke down too much-1. Now nothing on the track-1.
HISTA replaces CE Better techonogies, better story, less scandal. +1
Space Mountain gets face lift and audio track +1.
Astro Orbitors looks cooler than old rockets. +1. Put in bad location. -1.
Innoventions, boring yet I am guilty of killing time there. Uses building that had been left vacant for a decade. +1.
Autopia. Longer track and interesting ideas (off road section). +1. Budget cuts hinder the interesting ideas (5 feet of off road) -1.
Red Rockets. Uses unused building, good food, indoors, alternative to crowded and noisy Club Buzz. +1.5
Unifying Tommorland with core paint theme and vegetable garden gimick. +1. People can't appreciate the cool paint scheme. -1.
Is that everything... Let me add it all up...+3.5 So, I can now honestly say that TL98 was still slightly better, or at least equal with than the old one.
Many problems lie with budget. RRs needed a banked track, AO needed a more developed entry way to be part of (or to be on top of the RR), Autopia needed more money for their ideas. And no, it still wouldn't have been brilliant, but it would have a lot less room for gripe. The only new attraction I didn't care for was inoventions, but I prefer a weak attraction to an empty building.
